Hey HolyHosting community! 🌟
Today we’re diving into an important topic for all Minecraft admins and players: how to delete playerdata from your server or single-player world 😎. Whether you need to reset a player’s progress or just clean up your world, we’ll show you how to do it safely and efficiently. 🎮
What is playerdata and why is it important? 🤔
When you play on a Minecraft server or in a single-player world, all information about your progress, inventory, position, and more is stored in files called playerdata. These files are unique for each player thanks to their UUID (Universally Unique Identifier). Sometimes, it’s necessary to delete this data, either to clean up or to start fresh.
How to Find a Player’s UUID 🔍
For online players:
Visit a Minecraft UUID lookup website.
Enter the player’s name and click “Lookup”.
Save the UUID for later use!

Deleting Playerdata: The Crucial Step 🗑️
For Dedicated Servers:
Go to the “Files” section in your server control panel.
Locate your world folder, then open the playerdata folder.
Use the saved UUID to find the player’s data you want to delete and remove the files.

Make sure the UUID matches the player you’re targeting before deleting the files.

⚠️ Common Mistake: Make sure to delete both files with the same UUID. Otherwise, you might leave behind residual data!
For Single-Player Worlds:
Open the Minecraft launcher and locate your world folder under “Installations”.
Navigate to the playerdata folder inside your world and delete the necessary files.(saves → [world name] → playerdata)

What About Plugins? 🛠️
Some servers use plugins like EssentialsX to store additional player data. In these cases:
Go to the “Files” section in your server panel and navigate to the plugin’s folder.
Locate and delete the files in the userdata directory (or the equivalent for your plugin).
⚠️ Tip: If you can’t find the correct folder, check the plugin’s documentation or reach out to our support team.
Common Issues and How to Fix Them 🔧
Can’t find my world:Check the “World” section in your server’s main panel. If you’re using Multiverse, make sure you’re in the correct world before searching.
Can’t locate playerdata files:Make sure you copied the full UUID and use the correct capitalization.
Deleted the wrong files:Restore from a backup or manually upload the correct files.
