Pal Spheres are one of the first items Palworld players need. Without them, catching Pals is not happening, and the adventure becomes mostly running away with confidence.

Pal Spheres are crafted at a Primitive Workbench. Gather two Wood by picking up sticks from the ground or punching trees until Wood drops.
With Wood in your inventory, open the build menu, which is “B” on PC, and place the Primitive Workbench on the ground. After the short build animation, interact with it to see available recipes.

Palworld uses a technology tree for crafting progression. After some early gathering and crafting, players earn Technology Points. Spend those points on the Pal Sphere recipe so it becomes craftable at the Primitive Workbench.

A Pal Sphere requires three Wood, three Stone, and one Paldium Fragment. Wood and Stone come from trees and rocks.
Paldium Fragments need slightly more work. Mine regular rocks with a Stone Pickaxe for a Paldium Fragment every few swings, or mine the blue Paldium rocks found along the river near the starting area.

Return to the Primitive Workbench with the required materials and craft Pal Spheres. The animation is short, and making several at once does not take long.
Do not forget to collect the finished Pal Spheres from the bench before leaving. Early quests and Pal catching can use them quickly, so crafting extras is rarely a bad idea.
