How to configure the database for your Minecraft server

Minecraft·March 22, 2026·12 min read

Hello, in this guide we will explain in a simple way how to configure the database for your Minecraft server directly from the HolyHosting panel. Let's get started!

Log in to your server panel
The first thing we need to do is enter our server's control panel, then go to the "Database" section, click and create a new database.

base de datos apartado

Now, name the database (it cannot contain spaces)

crear base de datos

Once we create the database, we can view its details by clicking on "database details". Here we can see information such as: - Endpoint - Username - Password

info base de datos

To enter the database, we must click on "phpMyAdmin". A username and password will be requested, which we can find in the database details.

iniciar base de datos

You will also be asked for your server's node in "Server Choice". If you don't know which node your server is on, go to the panel and you can see it below the server name. Once you log in, you will see the following:

base de datos

Configuring LuckPerms Now, the next step is to enter the "plugins" folder, then the "luckperms" folder and click on the config.yml file. Once inside, go to the section "Storage settings"

config

Here we can see all the storage settings we will need for our database. This is where we will configure our DB

base de datos config

Remember the window where you access the database? We need to go there and copy the following: Database name: Must be pasted in the "database" line.

  • Endpoint: Must be pasted in the "address" line.
  • Username: Must be pasted in the "username" line.
  • Password: Must be pasted in the "password" line. It should look something like this:
    base de datos config
Once we have done the above, we will restart the server and then type "pl" in the console. If the LuckPerms plugin shows in green, it means you did everything correctly.
