Customizing Your Character in Bedrock Edition
Customizing your character in Minecraft Bedrock Edition is fun, with hundreds of skins available to create or purchase in the marketplace. Without customization, players are stuck with the default skin, which most find unappealing. Skins let players change their appearance to anything interesting—from anime characters to Disney figures with unique features—and also make it easier to spot players in-game. Minecraft makes the design process simple with just a few clicks.
This Holy Hosting guide explains how to change your Bedrock Edition skin so you can play however you like.
How to Change Skins in Bedrock
The process is similar across Windows, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and Pocket Edition. There are two types of skins:
Custom Skins: Players can manually create their character using various options.
Classic Skins: Predefined skins from Mojang or the marketplace.
The steps can vary slightly between consoles—for example, Windows 10 and PS4 have different interfaces—but the process is generally the same. Importing custom skins may also differ or be incompatible on some platforms. Follow the instructions below to start using either classic or custom skins.
Classic Skin
Open Minecraft on your platform and go to the main menu.
In the bottom right corner, select Wardrobe or the Profile option.

Hover over an empty skin slot and click Create Character.
Then, select the Classic Skin option and click Create Classic Skin.

From here, you can start scrolling through the list of skins to find the one you want.
(Optional): On Windows, instead of choosing an in-game skin, you can upload a skin by selecting Choose New Skin in the bottom right corner.

Note: If you can’t find what you want, try checking the Marketplace for more options.
Once you find your desired skin, click Equip.

Press Back in the top left corner or on your gamepad to save the changes.
Character Creator
Open Minecraft on your platform, then go to the main menu.
Select Wardrobe or the Profile option near the bottom right corner.
Choose an empty character slot and click Create Character.

Click the Character option and continue to the Create Character button.

From here, you can start applying special customizations to the skin from a variety of categories.

Once you’re done, simply press the Back button near the top left corner or on your gamepad.
