How to Catch Dogen in Palworld: Spawn Spots, Breeding Recipes, and Move List

Palworld·November 26, 2025·19 min read

Dogen reads less like a fighter and more like a self-help podcast host with a snack problem. The Paldeck flags it as a Neutral Pal obsessed with personal growth and constantly hungry, which somehow translates into one of the most useful workers you can station at a base. Solid Handiwork rating, decent transport speed, and a Partner Skill that warps it straight home make this one worth chasing down.

Where to Find Dogen on the Map

Dogen joined the roster with the Sakurajima Summer Update and hangs around the central zone of the new island. Spawns are not restricted by time of day, so you can wander in at noon or midnight and still trip over a few of them. Bring a decent sphere and a Pal with a Dark partner buff if you want a quick capture.

If you want the stronger version, a Rampaging Predator Dogen patrols the coordinates -240, -271. Take it down for Predator Cores and Giant Pal Souls, both of which feed into late-game upgrades.

Hatching Dogen From an Egg

The random route is the Large Common Egg. Drop one in an incubator and pray to the RNG gods, because that same egg also rolls into:

  • Gorirat
  • Grintale
  • Lunaris
  • Lovander
  • Mimog
  • Celesdir

For anyone tired of gambling, specific breeding pairs guarantee a Dogen instead of a coin flip. Any of the following combinations will do the trick:

  • Killamari Primo + Jetragon
  • Munchill + Bellanoir
  • Kitsun + Gildane
  • Neptilius + Gumoss
  • Wumpo Botan + Caprity Noct
  • Munchill + Bellanoir Libero
  • Leezpunk + Silvegis

Pick whichever pair uses Pals you already have benched. No need to chase exotic combos when something common works.

Capture Strategy

Dogen is Neutral, which means Dark-type damage chews through its defense fastest. Bring the heavy hitters from your Dark roster: Bellanoir Libero, Lyleen Noct, Frostallion Noct, Menasting, or Necromus. The same logic applies when fighting the Rampaging variant, only with bigger health bars and worse manners.

If your Dark Pals are still in training, a workaround is to send out Nox or Wixen Noct. Their Partner Skills coat your own attacks with Dark damage, letting you handle the fight yourself with whatever weapon you brought. Just keep your sphere count high. Neutral Pals are not famously stubborn, but Dogen has enough HP to soak a few failed throws.

Base Stats and Work Profile

Level 1 numbers are nothing flashy, but Dogen scales well and excels at base duties rather than raw combat.

  • Health: 90
  • Attack: 100
  • Defense: 100
  • Paldeck Number: 122
  • Element: Neutral
  • Partner Skill: Homeward Prayer. Once triggered, Dogen teleports to the closest base. Disabled inside dungeons and similar areas.
  • Drops: Bone
  • Work Suitability: Handiwork Lv. 3, Lumbering Lv. 2, Transporting Lv. 2, Gathering Lv. 2, Medicine Lv. 1

That Handiwork 3 rating is the headline. Park Dogen near a crafting bench and watch production rates climb without much fuss.

Full Skill List

Dogen unlocks seven active skills as it levels up. Most are Neutral, with one Ground move in the mix.

Air Cannon (Lv. 1)

  • Element: Neutral
  • Charge: 2 seconds
  • Power: 25
  • Rapid burst of pressurized air. Cheap and quick.

Power Shot (Lv. 7)

  • Element: Neutral
  • Charge: 4 seconds
  • Power: 35
  • Focused energy blast, slightly slower but stronger.

Stone Cannon (Lv. 15)

  • Element: Ground
  • Charge: 15 seconds
  • Power: 70
  • Lobs a boulder at the target. Useful coverage option against Pals that shrug off Neutral damage.

Power Bomb (Lv. 22)

  • Element: Neutral
  • Charge: 15 seconds
  • Power: 70
  • A built-up energy ball that hits hard at the cost of windup time.

Air Blade (Lv. 30)

  • Element: Neutral
  • Charge: 20 seconds
  • Power: 85
  • Sends out a fan of cutting air. Decent for catching multiple enemies in a line.

Wholehearted Stance (Lv. 40)

  • Element: Neutral
  • Charge: 30 seconds
  • Power: 170
  • Dogen's signature move. It drops into an aiki guard, nullifies the next incoming attack, and counters with a full-power palm strike.

Pal Blast (Lv. 50)

  • Element: Neutral
  • Charge: 55 seconds
  • Power: 150
  • Wide beam attack that wipes anything stuck in front of it. Long charge, big payoff.

Between its high Handiwork stat, a teleport-home Partner Skill, and a capstone counter move, Dogen earns its keep both at the base and on expeditions. Add one to the roster early and the rest of your Sakurajima trips get noticeably smoother.
