How to Apply for MCC Rising 2 and Key Dates

Minecraft·July 21, 2023·6 min read

MCC Rising 2 gave up-and-coming Minecraft creators a shot at the Championship stage, but applications opened before the August event itself. Here is how the entry window worked, what teams needed to submit, and the requirements selected players had to meet.

MCC Rising 2 Date and Format

Minecraft Championship normally brings established Minecraft creators together in teams of four for nine minigames. MCC Rising keeps the structure but shifts the spotlight to ten teams of newer or smaller creators.

MCC Rising 2 was scheduled to air live on August 26th, 2023, at 3 PM EST through the official Noxcrew channel. Teams were expected to be announced the following month after applications closed.

How to Apply for MCC Rising 2

The application window ran from July 21st at noon EST to July 24th at noon EST. Entries had to be submitted as groups of four, with each team creating an application video recorded in Minecraft using working microphones.

Noxcrew was not asking for cinematic editing wizardry. The goal was to find teams with good chemistry, clear personalities, and enough love for MCC to make an entertaining stream. The suggested talking points included:

  • What are your names, and how old are you?
  • What role does each person have on the team?
  • Are there any Minecraft or real-life talents and hobbies worth sharing?
  • Is the team aiming to win, play for fun, or somehow do both without exploding?
  • Which minigame are you most excited to play?
  • Keep the video under 5 minutes and host it on a reliable streaming platform such as YouTube or Vimeo.

After finishing the video, applicants needed to visit the submission page and select "Submit Entry."

Requirements Before Applying

Selected players were agreeing to appear in a live broadcasted event. They also needed to arrive one hour early on August 26th at 2 PM EST, have Discord, use a decent microphone, and play on a computer capable of running MCC.

Anyone unsure about performance could test their setup on MCC Island. Applicants also needed to own Minecraft Java Edition, since cracked clients were not allowed.
