Minecraft modpacks can turn a familiar survival world into something much stranger, and Sky Alchemy does exactly that. This Forge 1.18.2 pack takes the classic one block sky survival idea and expands it with construction, automation, farming, and magic. With nearly 200 mods included, players can build factories, create resource farms, study the arcane, or attempt all of it at once. That last option is bold, but Minecraft players have never been famous for restraint.
Because Sky Alchemy is a large modpack, running it on a multiplayer server can be awkward without a proper setup. HolyHosting helps simplify the process so you can get the server online, invite friends, and start growing your island instead of wrestling with files.
If you are new to modded server hosting, start by ordering a Minecraft server from HolyHosting. Once the server is ready, use the panel to install Sky Alchemy. No advanced technical knowledge is needed, since the modpack can be selected directly from the available server files.

Wait for the restart to finish before joining. Modded packs can take longer than vanilla Minecraft to boot, especially the first time.
Your Minecraft client must use the same modpack as the server. The easiest method is CurseForge, which avoids manually downloading, extracting, and wiring files into a launcher.

If the pack crashes or loads poorly, increase the memory allocated to Minecraft. Sky Alchemy needs at least 4GB of RAM, though larger servers or heavier client settings may need more.
Sky Alchemy begins on a tiny island floating in the void. From there, every block, machine, farm, and magical setup matters. The pack gives you choices early, then steadily opens more paths as you collect resources and expand.
At the start, you choose one of 17 species. Each species changes your character with different traits, so the choice can affect how you survive and build. You also begin with a crafting table and several guide books in your inventory. Read them before throwing them in a chest forever. They are actually useful here.

Food is not just background work in Sky Alchemy. Depending on your species and progression path, farming can become a major part of survival. Farmer's Delight adds more crops, meals, ingredients, and cooking tools, giving you better ways to stay fed while building your floating settlement.
Create crop plots, animal pens, and cooking spaces as your island grows. A well-planned food area can support longer building sessions and help keep the rest of your progression moving.

As new materials become available, Sky Alchemy lets you automate more of your island. The Create mod adds mechanical blocks that can harvest, process, move, and craft resources while still looking like they belong in a workshop instead of a spreadsheet.
You can build crop systems, material processing lines, and compact production setups. Other tech-focused mods add even more options, so your island can shift from a lonely platform to a small floating factory.

Technology is not the only route. Sky Alchemy also includes magic mods such as Ars Nouveau, giving players access to spells, magical equipment, enchantments, and arcane crafting. This path can help with combat, travel, utility, and exploration.
Magic also pairs well with building. New blocks, armor, and tools give your island more style while helping you handle the problems that come with living above the void.

Since there is no normal terrain, you decide how the world is arranged. Build one large island, a network of smaller platforms, or a vertical base with different floors for farming, machines, storage, and magic.
Later progression can make disconnected islands practical, especially once flight options such as craftable brooms become available. Planning helps, but the pack gives you plenty of freedom to redesign as you go.

A Sky Alchemy server is best when players divide jobs, share resources, and build toward different goals. One person can focus on food, another can automate production, and someone else can spend the evening making magical gear that may or may not be safe to stand near.
For quick reference, Sky Alchemy runs on Minecraft Forge 1.18.2, includes around 200 mods, and should have at least 4GB of RAM. More memory is recommended when adding players, increasing view distance, or installing extra mods.
