What Demon Slayers Unleashed Adds

Demon Slayers Unleashed is a Forge modpack for Minecraft 1.16.5 built around fast combat, dangerous night encounters, custom weapons, new machines, and progression inspired by Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Instead of hand-picking dozens of separate mods and hoping they cooperate, this pack gives you a ready-made setup with around 80 mods working together.

That makes it a strong choice for a multiplayer server. Players can hunt demons, build up their gear, explore machine-based crafting, and choose whether they want to fight monsters as humans or become something much less friendly. Very normal Minecraft behavior, clearly.

This guide explains how to install the pack on your computer, add it to a HolyHosting server, and get started once the world loads.

Install the Modpack on Your Computer

Every player needs the same modpack installed locally before joining the server. CurseForge is the simplest way to handle this.

  1. Go to CurseForge and download the launcher for your operating system.
  1. Save the installer, open it, and finish the launcher setup.
  1. Open CurseForge, then choose Browse Modpacks from the Minecraft section.
  1. Search for Demon Slayers Unleashed and install the matching modpack.
  1. Once the download finishes, open My Modpacks and press Play on Demon Slayers Unleashed.

Let the pack fully load before connecting to a server. First launches can take longer than usual because Minecraft has to prepare all of the modded files.

Install Demon Slayers Unleashed on the Server

The server must run the same modpack version as the players. If the versions do not match, connection errors are expected.

  1. Open the HolyHosting server panel and select the correct server profile.
  1. Find the Game File or version selector area, then open the dropdown menu.
  1. Search for Demon Slayers Unleashed, select it, and confirm the version change.
  1. When prompted, choose to generate a new world. This helps avoid conflicts from older vanilla or modded world files.
  1. Restart the server and wait for the modpack to finish loading.

After the server is online, join through the CurseForge launcher profile you installed earlier.

First Steps in the World

When the world starts, you may notice a steam train near spawn. Fans of the source material will recognize the reference. You will also begin with two important books: Materials & You and Chronicle of Shadows.

Materials & You explains early tool creation, recipes, and important materials. Chronicle of Shadows covers more advanced systems from the pack. These books are worth reading before sprinting into the night with wooden tools and excessive confidence.

Build Basic Tools and Weapons

Early progression relies heavily on Tinkers-style crafting. To make proper tools, you will need pattern materials, a Part Builder, and a Tinker Station. The basic idea is simple: craft individual parts first, then assemble those parts into a finished tool or weapon.

Use Materials & You as your reference for recipes and material options. Without this setup, you will struggle to mine, fight, and keep up with the pack's early survival demands. Prioritize tools that let you gather stone and defend yourself before chasing stronger enemies.

Hunt Demons at Night

Demons appear at night and vary heavily in strength. Some are manageable early targets, while others are closer to boss fights. If you run into a powerful demon too soon, retreating is not cowardice. It is inventory preservation.

Human fighters can also appear throughout the world. Fighting near them can help you defeat demons that would otherwise be too difficult alone. Stronger enemies may drop valuable rewards, including cosmetic items and swords with special abilities.

These swords are central to the modpack. Each one can grant different attacks or powers. For example, a water-based sword ability can deal heavy damage to demons and may become one of your first major combat upgrades, depending on which enemy you defeat.

Choose a Path for Power

Check the Advancements menu as you play. Demon Slayers Unleashed includes specific goals that guide progression and point you toward major unlocks.

One important item is Muzan's Blood, which can sometimes drop from enemies. Drinking it turns the player into a demon. This changes your role in the world, since you can begin fighting humans instead of working beside them. Both paths offer their own abilities, so your choice affects how your character develops.

Craft Spartan Weapons

You do not have to rely only on random sword drops. The modpack also includes many craftable Spartan weapons, including daggers, katanas, and other melee options. These can be made from vanilla materials like iron as well as special modded ores.

Different weapons have different traits, upgrade slots, attack speeds, and combat uses. Mining for better materials is a reliable way to improve your loadout when demon drops are not giving you what you want.

Use the Resource Books

Demon hunting is only one part of the pack. Demon Slayers Unleashed also includes smelting, gadgets, armor, and advanced material systems. Several craftable books explain these features.

Puny Smelting introduces smelting machines, materials, and upgrades. It is useful when you need processed metals for tools, weapons, or base projects. Craft it with 1 book and 1 grout block in a crafting table.

Tinker's Gadgetry focuses on gadgets and armor. Some items can launch players or creatures over long distances, which can be useful during chaotic fights. Craft it with 1 book and 1 skyslime ball.

Fantastic Foundry is more advanced and is best saved for later progression. It expands alloy and fuel systems, helping players produce more specialized metals. Craft it with 1 book and 1 nether grout block.

Common Problems

If the modpack crashes in the launcher, the installation may be damaged or missing files. The fastest fix is usually to reinstall the modpack through CurseForge, then launch it again from a fresh profile.

If the game freezes or stutters, check client RAM allocation in the CurseForge settings. Modpacks need more memory than vanilla Minecraft. If every player is lagging at the same time, the issue may be server-side instead. In that case, reduce unnecessary load, review view distance and entity-heavy areas, and make sure the server has enough resources for the number of players.
