FTB Trident is a Feed the Beast modpack built around one central idea: war. With roughly 64 mods packed in, it sits in the small-to-medium server range and gets considerably better when there are people on the other side of the battlefield.
The pack was assembled by the FTB Team and leans hard into combat. The headliner is Flans Mod, which adds a sizable arsenal of guns, vehicles, planes and helicopters. Playing solo works, but most of the fun comes from squaring off against friends or grouping up against shared targets.
War is the theme, not the only activity. You can wire up automation lines that churn out aircraft, ground vehicles, weapons and ammunition by the thousand while you handle the more direct work of starting fights.
Tinkers Construct is in the mix for crafting tools and weapons from smelted steel and other materials, so your loadout can be tuned beyond the default options. Power for the larger builds comes from Big Reactors, which makes large-scale energy generation feasible without too much fuss.
For everything else, Chisel 2 handles aesthetics. Hangars for your air fleet, decorated command rooms, and the occasional underground bunker for when an opponent decides to drop something heavy on your base.
The fastest route is through the FTB launcher.
The server needs to be running the matching modpack jar. If you have not changed server versions before, check your provider's documentation for that step.
FTB Trident plays best with company, whether you are coordinating attacks or trying to outbuild a rival. The setup is straightforward, the theme is well defined, and the modpack delivers exactly what the title implies. Bring friends, build factories, and try not to get bombed too often.
