Don't Starve Together Hallowed Nights 2025 Event Rewards and Hotfixes

Hallowed Nights is back in Don't Starve Together, which means spooky crafts, seasonal cosmetics, strange encounters, and enough pumpkin energy to make the Constant look almost festive. The 2025 event adds new skins, wearable pumpkin heads, Twitch Drops, and several hotfix changes.

Hallowed Nights 2025 in Don't Starve Together

Like previous Hallowed Nights events, the 2025 version focuses on Halloween-themed items and cosmetics. Some event items can be crafted, while others appear as players explore the world.

Enemies can also show up in new places. Totally Normal Bats may appear when chopping trees, and Batilisks can appear after interacting with Suspicious Dirt Piles or Graves. Totally Normal Bats are especially annoying because their attacks remove ten Sanity and interrupt player actions.

New Event Content

One of the biggest additions is a wearable pumpkin helmet. Players can carve different shapes and features into a pumpkin, then wear it as a customized gourd hat. It grants full immunity to Sanity loss from darkness and protects against the action-interrupting jump scares tied to Hallowed Nights.

Mad Scientist Lab potions also now produce in higher quantities. Other event additions include:

• Crystal-Crested Buzzards roaming the world after Lunar Hail.
• More creature corpses mutating into their existing lunar counterparts.
• New spawn mechanics and combat behavior for inimical Gestalts.
• New skins: Webwork Quilt, Beast Effigy, Sarcarrotgus, Web Master T-Shirts, and Supercapa-Sitter.

The new skins are login rewards during Hallowed Nights. Logging in during the event also grants a free Trick-or-Treat chest containing a random Hallowed Nights costume.

Twitch Drops are available too. Players can earn a Pyric Core Icon, Pyric Core Portrait, and Pyric Core Thermal Stone skin by watching up to three hours of Don't Starve Together streams on Twitch from October 27 through November 24.

Game Hotfixes 696980 and 696742

Hallowed Nights 2025 also arrived alongside hotfixes 696980 and 696742. These updates adjusted event creatures, fixed crashes, and cleaned up several mutation and world-state issues.

Hotfix 696980 Changes

• Revived merms from lunar mutation remember their original home and leader if they have lunar affinity.
• Crystal-Crested Buzzard flamethrower cooldown, damage, and lifetime were tuned.
• Crystal-Crested Buzzards no longer stack flame walls on each other. Firebreathing now extends existing flame lifetime instead.
• Horror Hounds and Permafrost Pengulls no longer target Crystal-Crested Buzzards.

Hotfix 696980 Bug Fixes

• Fixed Shadow Merms trying to perform a lunar mutation.
• Fixed non-Lunar-aligned Wurt indirectly hiring Lunar Merms by recruiting nearby merms.
• Fixed an uncommon crash involving circling Crystal-Crested Buzzards while moving through the world.
• Fixed a case where a gestalt-possessable corpse could lose its gestalt.
• Fixed Shattered Spider Holes regenerating all spiders when mined.

Hotfix 696742 Changes

• Crystal-Crested Buzzard Health was reduced from 400 to 300.
• Crystal-Crested Buzzards leave when the Lunar Rift closes.
• A limit now controls how many Crystal-Crested Buzzards can circle one player.

Hotfix 696742 Bug Fixes

• Fixed a crash on load related to Moonstorms.
• Dead Red Hounds and Blue Hounds can no longer mutate and now show the correct visuals.
• Shadow merms and their source corpses can no longer mutate.
• Crystal-Crested Buzzards can now be targeted with the attack key instead of force attack.
• Fixed the missing chest gem on Bright-Beaked Bird art.
• Fixed duplicate circling Crystal-Crested Buzzards after a player left and rejoined.
• Fixed a crash when a Terramite mines Glommer's Statue.
• Fixed Walter's storytelling not stopping when the fire runs out.
• Fixed Waxed Pumpkin Heads not saving correctly.
• Fixed a Sanctum crash on load.
• Fixed a crash involving the fake Koalefant carcass when the game saves.
