MinecraftΒ·March 22, 2026Β·12 min read

Hello, players of HolyHosting 🌟 We know that playing on modded servers is super fun, but it can also be a headache 🧠 when mods don't match between your game and the server. 😩 Here we show you how to fix those annoying "Mismatched Mod Channels" errors and get back to the action.

Mismatched Mod Channels

This error appears when the mods or their versions don't match between the server and your game. This can be caused by:

  • Mods missing.
  • Different versions of the mods.
  • Use of an incorrect version of the modpack.

FileZilla

  • Log in to your HolyHosting server panel and HolyHosting go to the FTP File Access.
  • Copy the login information.

  • Open FileZilla and paste the login detailsπŸ“œ.
  • Click on Quick Connect and accept any pop-up message.

  • In FileZilla, locate the mods folder on your server.
  • Drag and drop the mods folder to your desktop to download it.
  • Open the mods folder from the launcher on your PC.
  • Delete all mods from the launcher folder.
  • Copy the downloaded mods from the server to the launcher folder.
  • Start the game and verify that it loads correctly.

  • Log in to the server panel, select your server and stop it.
  • Go to FTP File Access and delete the jar files and mods.
  • Reinstall the modpack on your launcher with the latest version.
  • Try joining the server.

Unable to Join the Minecraft Server

Sometimes, you can fix the mismatched mods error but still can't join. This may be due to additional mods on the server or configuration conflicts. Contact support if this happens.

Unable to Use FileZilla

Problems with FileZilla are common and usually due to invalid credentials. Make sure to use the correct password and verify that your firewall is not blocking the FTP connection.

And that's it! πŸŽ‰ You should now be able to play on your modded server without issues. We hope this guide was helpful and remember, don't hesitate to ask on HolyHosting DiscordΒ or contact our support team. Follow us on Twitter (@HolyHosting) to stay up to date.
