Can You Release Pals in Palworld? Current Removal Options Explained

A full Palbox eventually forces hard choices. Some Pals are workers, some are fighters, and some are the fifth copy of something you caught because the sphere was already flying. So can you simply release Pals in Palworld?

Is There a Pal Release Option?

No. Palworld does not currently let players release Pals back into the wild with a simple menu option. Once a Pal is captured, there is no direct equivalent to setting it free.

That does not mean every extra Pal has to stay in storage forever. There are a few ways to remove Pals, though some are cleaner than others.

1. Sell Pals to a Pal Merchant

Selling Pals is the quickest practical method for clearing space while earning gold coins. Pal Merchants can usually be found in settlements, and their blue clothing makes them fairly easy to spot.

These merchants also sell Pals from different areas, so it is worth checking their inventory for rare traits while you are there. Emptying storage and shopping at the same time is efficient, if not exactly sentimental.

2. Use the Meat Cleaver

Players can unlock the Meat Cleaver with Technology Points at level 12. It allows Pals to be slaughtered for resources, permanently removing them.

This is the harshest official option, and it is not going to be every player's preferred solution. Still, it exists as a way to convert unwanted Pals into materials.

3. Kidnapped Pals on Public Servers

There is also an unusual multiplayer-related issue involving Raider Spheres. These cannot be obtained legitimately, but they can capture other players' Pals. Reports have tied them to hackers on public servers, so be cautious around suspicious players.

This is not a recommended removal method. It is more of a warning for anyone playing on public servers.

Will Palworld Add Releasing Later?

Players have asked for a more ethical way to remove Pals, such as releasing them into the wild. However, the developers have not confirmed that such a feature is planned.

For now, selling is the most straightforward option, the Meat Cleaver is the most final option, and waiting for a proper release feature remains a hope rather than a guarantee.
