Palworld Pals are not all built for the same job. Some are better at deleting enemy health bars, while others keep a base running without turning every workstation into a traffic jam. This guide covers strong combat choices first, then lists top workers for the main base tasks.

Combat usually comes down to a simple idea: deal more damage than the enemy can return. The Pals below stand out because of their damage types, high-power skills, partner utility, or defensive value.

Jormuntide Ignis is a late-game Pal and one of the most dependable fighters for many encounters. Its Fire typing lets it punish Grass and Ice enemies, giving it strong matchups in plenty of fights.
It can also learn Fire Ball and Dragon Meteor. Both attacks have 150 base power, letting Jormuntide Ignis tear large chunks from enemy health bars when its attacks connect.
Regular Jormuntide is the Water-type counterpart to Jormuntide Ignis. It can also learn Dragon Meteor, and while it does not normally learn Fire Ball, it can learn Hydro Laser, another 150-power attack.
Its main limitation is coverage. Jormuntide is especially strong into Fire-type enemies, but it does not have the same broad offensive edge as the Fire and Dragon variant.

Lyleen Noct is the Dark-type version of Lyleen, and it can use both Dark and Ice attacks without Skill Fruits. Unlike standard Lyleen, it is not weak to Fire, though Dragon-type attacks remain a concern.
Its Partner Skill, Goddess of the Tranquil Light, restores a large amount of the player's health. That makes Lyleen Noct valuable in longer fights where healing items get expensive.

Jetragon is known as the fastest natural flyer in Palworld. Once you catch this legendary Pal near the endgame, many other flying mounts may start collecting dust at base.
It is not just a travel upgrade. Jetragon can learn Dragon Meteor, and while mounted, its Aerial Missile Partner Skill lets you fire missile launchers at enemies.

Menasting is a Ground and Dark Pal that works well when you want more staying power. Its Partner Skill, Steel Scorpion, temporarily raises the player's defense.
It can also learn Rock Lance, a 150-power Ground attack. That combination of defensive support and hard-hitting damage makes Menasting reliable against tough wild Pals.

The Pals below are strong choices because they have Level 3 or Level 4 work suitability in their categories. Farming is not included because Ranch output depends on item drops rather than a numbered work level.
