Best Palworld Base Locations for Ore, Resources, Boss Farming, and Early Progress

Palworld·February 5, 2024·14 min read

A good base location in Palworld saves time every time you return to it. The best spots usually combine nearby resources, usable terrain, and some natural defense. A terrible base, meanwhile, is mostly a scenic place to watch your Pals get stuck on rocks.

The right location depends on what you need. One base might be perfect for Ore but weak for Wood. Another might be easy to defend but poor for farming materials like High Quality Pal Oil. Since Palworld eventually lets players build multiple bases, it helps to specialize each one.

Best Palworld Base Locations by Goal

Below are useful Palworld base locations for different priorities, including early-game safety, Ore farming, boss access, resource routes, and captured Pal rescues.

Best Beginner Base: Plateau of Beginnings (235, -510)

After leaving the starting cave, new players can find a wide, mostly flat area nearby at the Plateau of Beginnings. This is one of the easiest early base spots because it provides the basic resources needed to get established.

The area includes multiple nodes for Stone and Paldium Fragments, plus plenty of trees and red berry bushes. That means early Wood and food are close by, which reduces the amount of wandering required while you are still learning the game.

This Windswept Plateau location also has only a few slopes that act as entry and exit points. Those narrow approaches naturally funnel attackers, making raids easier to defend compared with wide-open bases.

Best Ore Base: Hillside (3, -520)

Once you start crafting Ingots, Ore becomes one of the most important resources in the game. Since 1 Ingot requires 2x Ore, carrying Ore back from random deposits gets old quickly, mostly because the material is heavy and inventory space is not infinite.

A strong solution is to build a second base south of the Alpha Kingpaca area, around coordinates 3, -520. This small location contains several Ore deposits grouped close together.

Place a Palbox here and assign Pals with Mining Work Suitability. Digtoise is especially useful because nearby deposits let it spin through Ore efficiently. Add Pals with Transporting so the mined Ore gets moved into storage containers instead of decorating the ground.

Best Base for Ancient Civilization Parts: Windswept Hills (155, -395)

Ancient Civilization Parts are needed for many mid- and late-game items. The main way to farm them is by defeating bosses, especially Alpha Pals and dungeon boss variants.

The Alpha Chillet is one of the easier bosses to capture or defeat for Ancient Civilization Parts, but repeatedly traveling to its arena can become tedious. Placing a Palbox near 155, -395 shortens the route and makes farming runs much faster.

This location has another bonus: several Teafants spawn nearby. That makes it useful for farming Pal Fluids during the early game, giving the base value beyond boss access.

Best Base for Extra Resources: Wildlife Sanctuary (85, -735)

To reach this Wildlife Sanctuary, use a mountable Water-type Pal such as Surfent and travel south from Flying Fish Coast. Like the other Wildlife Sanctuaries, this area is compact and packed with valuable Pals.

You can find large Pals here, including Grizzbolt, Azurobe, and Elphidran. Capturing or defeating them lets you collect more than just Ore.

Useful materials from this area include:

  • Ice Organ
  • Low-Grade Medical Supplies
  • Tomato Seeds
  • High-Quality Pal Oil
  • Cloth
  • Beautiful Flower
  • Leather
  • Electric Organ

Because the sanctuary is relatively small, you do not need to search across a huge zone to find targets. That makes it a practical farming stop when you need several different resources.

Best Base for Rescuing Captured Pals: Investigator's Fork (-185, -130)

If you want a base near captured Pal events, place one near Investigator's Fork at coordinates -185, -130. The area sits slightly west of the Alpha Anubis boss fight, inside an opening surrounded by bamboo trees.

When you arrive, look for smoke signals nearby. Those smoke columns mark Syndicate Thug bases, and each one includes a captured Pal.

Defeat the Syndicate Thugs, open the cage, and the rescued Pal will be added to your Pal Inventory. The captured Pals and Syndicate Thugs eventually respawn, so you can fast-travel back to this Palbox and repeat the rescue route whenever needed.

This spot is not the best for every resource, but it is excellent if your goal is building up a larger Pal collection through rescue events.
