Abiotic Factor Torii Portal Guide: Location, Lantern Puzzle, and Jizo Statue

Torii was added with Abiotic Factor Update 1.0. Unlike most portal worlds, it functions as a peaceful Home World rather than another place full of things trying to chew through a lab coat. It also hides a secret puzzle with a collectible reward.

Where to Find the Torii Portal

Torii can be reached fairly early. The portal is in Server Room 01 in the Office Sector of the GATE Cascade Research Facility. From Warren, the security guard NPC, take the hallway on the left. Look for the enclosed booth near the charging station.

A Tier 1 locked door blocks the portal room. Use a Keypad Hacker Tier 1 to open it. If that tool is not crafted yet, make one at the Crafting Bench with:

• 1x Controller
• 1x LCD Screen
• 1x Infrared Emitter

Torii Secret Puzzle Overview

Torii is safe for bases and has no hostile NPCs or enemy raids, making it very different from portal worlds such as the Mycofields. Its hidden puzzle, however, requires later-game tools and a few specific items.

Begin at the second bridge after the entrance. Press the button underneath the bridge. A sound effect confirms the first step.

Next, head toward the pavilion with the bonfire. Behind it is a tree sealed by a Tier 4 lock. Players without a Keypad Hacker Tier 4 or higher will need to return after progressing further through the Facility.

All Four Lantern Locations

After opening the Tier 4 lock, interact with four lit lanterns around Torii and turn them off.

The first lantern is near the portal entrance. Face the entrance area and climb the small mountain to the left.

The second target is in the western part of Torii, near the waterfall. Two lanterns sit below it, but the correct one is on the right.

The third lantern waits at the end of a hidden path on the eastern side of the map.

The fourth lantern is a hanging lantern behind the main central building near the bonfire.

Portal Koi, Royal Coin, and Reward

Once all four lanterns are off, go fishing for a Portal Koi. This rare Portal Fish variant can only be caught with Portal Fish Bait, which is crafted with:

• 1x Raw Exor Heart
• 2x Tomato

Portal Koi can be caught in Torii, though it may take several attempts. Catching one can also trigger the Rare Catch achievement.

The next required item is a Royal Coin from the Anteverse location Space Queen. Obtain one by finding it in one of the 25 possible locations or by butchering a Frigid Queenfish.

Return to Torii and place both the Royal Coin and Portal Koi on the altar inside the main central building. This opens the secret room.

Follow the newly opened path and collect the Jizo Statue. If the passage does not open after placing the items, turn the lanterns off again and retry the altar step.
