Abiotic Factor Soup Recipes: Ingredients, Hunger, Thirst, and Effects

Soup is one of the most useful food categories in Abiotic Factor once Cooking Level 3 is unlocked. A good recipe can restore hunger and thirst while adding a helpful buff. A bad recipe can make a scientist sick, irradiated, or extremely dead. Kitchen science remains science.

On a HolyHosting Abiotic Factor server, prepared soups are especially helpful for group trips into dangerous sectors, since one cooking setup can support several players.

How to Cook Soup

Players can begin making Soup after reaching Cooking Level 3. The basic setup requires:

• Portable Stove: Crafted at the Crafting Bench with 2x Coil, 4x Plastic Scrap, 4x Metal Pipe, and 1x Keyboard
• Soup Bowl: Crafted at the Crafting Bench with 1x Metal Scrap, 1x Stapler, 1x Glass Scrap, and 1x Test Tube
• Water: Taken from a sink or water cooler, or made by purifying tainted water

A bug that caused stove ingredients to disappear was fixed in Patch 0.8.0.9803.

Beneficial Soup Recipes

Correct recipes produce soups without Radiation or other unwanted effects. Random combinations may create Bad or Weird Soups, which usually offer weaker buffs. Some combinations are actively dangerous.

Soup effects can improve skill gain, change survival meters, or punish very questionable ingredient choices.

• Lightfooted: Temporarily improves Sprinting and Sneaking XP gain.
• Souper Satisfied: Temporarily slows hunger and thirst progression.
• Heightened Senses: Temporarily improves Blunt and Sharp Melee XP gain.
• Quick Reflexes: Temporarily improves Accuracy and Reloading XP gain.
• Sick: Can cause vomiting, reducing hunger.
• Death: Kills the player.
• Frosted: Reduces movement speed.
• Fatigue Fill: Drains the Sanity bar.
• Very Mild Radiation: Slightly increases the Radiation meter.
• Dangerous Radiation: Greatly increases the Radiation meter.
• Sugar High: Slows stamina drain, but increases tiredness and bathroom needs.
• Sweet Tooth: Temporarily improves sustenance gained from vending machine food.
• Living Off the Land: Temporarily improves Agriculture XP gain.
• Desire of the Flesh: Reduces incoming damage, but causes the Leyak to appear more often.
• Mega-Ante: Temporarily boosts movement speed and strength.
• Big Brain: Improves Construction and Crafting XP gain.
• Bodacious: Temporarily increases maximum carry weight.
