Abiotic Factor Console Launch Window for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

Abiotic Factor is heading beyond PC. During the PlayStation State of Play held on February 12, the survival crafting game appeared alongside several other announcements, confirming that console players are being invited into the Facility soon. That is either excellent news or a very formal workplace hazard notice, depending on how close the nearest anomaly is.

Abiotic Factor PS5 and Xbox Release Window

The console versions of Abiotic Factor are planned for summer 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The announcement did not give an exact release day, but the console launch is expected to line up with the game's full 1.0 release, also known as the Cold Fusion Update.

The timing appears to be a shift from the earlier 1.0 plan. The previous Cold Fusion announcement pointed to spring 2025, while the newer console announcement moved that target to summer. In other words, the release window is clearer than before, but not locked to a calendar date yet.

Subscription players also get notable access. PlayStation Plus subscribers are expected to be able to play through the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on console launch day. Xbox players get a similar benefit through Xbox Game Pass, where the game can be downloaded and installed through the service.

Crossplay Support

Crossplay is planned for the console release. The announcement describes it as optional, though exact menu details have not been explained yet. Based on that wording, players may be able to toggle crossplay depending on whether they want to group only with their platform or open sessions to everyone.

Once enabled, crossplay should allow Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S scientists to explore the same strange laboratory spaces together. That matters for a game built around multiplayer survival, crafting, scavenging, and repeatedly asking why the workplace has so many things with teeth.

Until the full release and console launch arrive, PC players can still play together through multiplayer sessions and dedicated servers while waiting for the PlayStation and Xbox versions.
