How to Unlock and Use the Cauldron in Abiotic Factor

The Cauldron lets Abiotic Factor players add a little witchcraft to the Facility. It is not a major progression item, but it does give bases a more mysterious look, which is important when the lab already contains enough problems to qualify as cursed.

Where to Find the Cauldron Recipe

To unlock the Cauldron recipe, travel to Canaan, one of Abiotic Factor's portal worlds. Start from the Office Sector Level 1 map, move left, then turn right toward the Wildlife Pens.

Continue through the Office Sector path without turning unless the route forces it. Eventually, a large withered tree appears beside an open Flow Control Module. Repair that part of the portal with a Snag Vine Seed, which can be found in mines near Manufacturing West or inside the Night Realm.

Next, place Night Essence into the other open Flow Control Module behind the tree. Night Essence also comes from the Night Realm. After both modules are handled, go to the nearby observation deck and interact with the Keypad module to open the Canaan portal. A Keypad Hacker Tier 3 is required.

Prepare before entering Canaan. The portal world contains hostile NPCs, and they are not there to admire the scenery.

Once inside Canaan, head toward the waterfall area. Look for the bucket elevators and ride one up to reach a swamp. Follow the swamp to its end to find the Witch's Hut.

Inside the hut, Dr. Riggs stands near the Cauldron. Interact with the Cauldron to unlock its crafting recipe. After that, craft it with 4x Carbon Plating, 8x Tech Scrap, 1x Lab Burner, and 8x Giga or Fisherman's Glue.

What the Cauldron Does

The Cauldron is a special container for liquids, including Ink from the Night Realm. Players can also hold a painted brush and interact with the Cauldron to change the color of the liquid inside.

As of Update 1.0, the Cauldron does not have another practical use. Its current value is mostly decorative, giving bases an extra atmospheric touch.
