Abiotic Factor 1.0, also known as the Cold Fusion Update, marks the game's move out of Early Access. The full release is set to expand the survival crafting chaos with a new location, new systems, environmental threats, and console support.

Abiotic Factor 1.0 Release Window

The console announcement trailer confirmed that Abiotic Factor's full release is planned for summer 2025. The same launch window also brings the sci-fi survival crafting game to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

What Abiotic Factor 1.0 Adds

Residence Sector

The Residence Sector opens in Version 1.0. It was once meant to house scientists and other facility workers, but it is no longer comfortable or safe. Temperatures have dropped below livable levels, and players will have to discover what caused the sector's collapse after the route becomes available.

Upgrade System

Abiotic Factor 1.0 adds a new upgrade system that should help favorite weapons stay useful for longer. Details remain limited, but players are expected to unlock the related station around the Manufacturing Tier.

Military-grade weapons sent through the Enchantment Bench will also receive major improvements. That process removes biometric locks from those items, which should make salvaged firepower much more practical.

Character Reset

The update introduces a character reset option. This gives players a way to reorganize their build without replaying the entire campaign every time they want to test a different approach.

Weather Effects

Even an underground laboratory will not be safe from the weather. Abiotic Factor 1.0 adds cold snaps, rolling blackouts, and a strange black fog. Each event affects players differently, so survival will require more than closing a door and pretending the problem belongs to another department.

Base Assault Changes

Base assaults are being reworked to reduce the chance of creatures suddenly spawning inside player-built headquarters. Enemies may still appear indoors in some cases, but most spawns should happen outside bases after the overhaul.

New Enemy: IS-0211

A new enemy type, IS-0211, also called the Leech, arrives with 1.0. As the name suggests, it targets batteries and power supplies, making base power management more dangerous.

Working Trashcans

Trashcans become functional in Version 1.0. Players can interact with them to dispose of unwanted items, which should help when inventory space gets clogged with things that seemed useful five minutes earlier.
