The sequel to A Minecraft Movie is officially happening, and fans will not have to wait long. A confirmation post made the news official, locking in a release window less than two years away. An End-focused sequel with the Ender Dragon as the central threat would be a safe and satisfying play.

Another popular theory points to a new antagonist from the real world stumbling into the Overworld, much like Garrett did. After clocking the potential for profit (and the very large, very angry dragon), they could try to weaponize it. That would push the original heroes back into action to clean up the mess.
