Holy Team

Running the same map for hours can drain the fun out of CS:GO faster than a flashbang to the face. Whether your group wants to try Dust II in casual or hop into Arms Race for a change of pace, swapping the active level is straightforward. Just keep in mind that not every map works with every gamemode, so picking the right combination matters.
This guide covers three approaches: voting from inside the match, using the server console, and locking in a new default from the control panel.
If you and your teammates are mid session and want to switch without leaving the game, the in game vote handles it cleanly.

If the vote passes, the map swaps immediately. No reboot, no panel access.
Server admins can skip the vote entirely and trigger the change from the console.

For example, `changelevel de_dust2` swaps the active level instantly. The full list of codenames and the gamemodes each map supports lives on the Valve developer wiki.
The console method works for the current session, but a restart can revert the map. To make the change stick, set it as the default through the panel.

Return to the main page and start the server. When it comes back online, the new map will load and stay as the default through future restarts.
The console command does nothing. Double check the spelling. Map codenames are case sensitive in some configurations, and a typo in either the command or the map name will silently fail. Also confirm the chosen map is compatible with the active gamemode.
The map reverts after a restart. This usually means the Customizations setting still points at the old map. Open that tab, update the dropdown, and the new selection will hold across restarts.
