Servers in South America are generally more expensive because maintaining them comes at a higher cost. To offset these expenses, we own our own hardware in the region. Even so, maintenance costs remain higher than in Germany or the United States.
This is due to several factors, including less developed data center infrastructure, higher electricity and internet costs, increased Anti-DDoS protection expenses, and more.
Despite these challenges, we are actively working to improve our infrastructure in the region, which could change the situation soon. Over the past few months, we’ve managed to nearly halve the cost of servers in South America (from $3.00/GB to $1.75/GB).
