Basic Stone tools carry you through the early hours of Voyagers of Nera, but the moment you cross paths with tougher creatures, they stop pulling their weight. The next material on the upgrade ladder is Sharpstone, and this guide walks through where it spawns, how to move it without breaking your back, and what you can craft with it.

Sharpstone behaves like regular Stone in one important way: any pickaxe will break it. The visual difference is what trips up most players at first. Where standard Stone is a dull grey, Sharpstone boulders carry a dark, glassy blackish-blue tone. A few solid swings turn one boulder into a stack of crafting-ready chunks.
The catch is that these boulders are scarce in The Embrace, the area where most players spend their opening hours. You will spot the occasional node while exploring, but if you are trying to gear up an entire workbench, hunting random spawns gets old fast.
The single richest deposit is on Crescent Isle, tucked under a large stone arch in the middle of the island. The good news is that you can reach it surprisingly early in your playthrough. The bad news is that Sharpstone is dense, and your inventory weight will let you know about it. Trying to swim a full load home is a fast way to discover the encumbrance penalty.
The practical fix is a Cargo Skiff. These small vessels include built-in storage compartments, which means you can ferry several stacks per trip without overloading your character. Set up a couple of round trips and your crafting bench will look healthy in no time.

One extra wrinkle on Crescent Isle: a wounded Spirit sits very close to the main deposit. Walk into its radius and enemies start pouring out of portals, which makes mining awkward at best. Clear the enemies, then interact with the Spirit afterward to settle the area. After that, the deposit becomes a calm farming spot you can revisit without ambushes.
Sharpstone exists mostly to upgrade your toolkit. A Sharpstone Pickaxe pulls Stone out of the ground faster, a Sharpstone Axe chews through Wood at a better rate, and the weapons hit noticeably harder against mid-tier foes. The full list of recipes below covers every item that currently uses the material:
Line up Twine and Wood ahead of time and you can knock out the full Sharpstone tier in a single crafting session.
