Standard Terraria worlds are fun, but custom Steam Workshop maps can add fresh survival challenges, adventure builds, puzzle areas, or massive structures worth exploring. After subscribing to a map in Steam, it still needs to be imported into Terraria and uploaded to the server before everyone can join. The process is not difficult, but Terraria world files can be picky about names and folders. Very picky, like a chest full of unsorted blocks.

Once the import completes, Terraria creates a normal world file that can be uploaded to your server.
On your computer, go to the Terraria worlds folder. This is commonly located in your Documents folder under the Terraria saves directory. Look for the imported Workshop world file, which uses the `.wld` extension. If the name is unclear, sort the folder by Date Modified to find the newest file.
Optionally, rename the `.wld` file to something simple before uploading it. Use a clear name without unusual characters, since that makes the server configuration easier to match later.
Next, open your HolyHosting server control panel and stop the Terraria server. Go to the file manager or FTP access area, then open:
`/saves/Worlds/`
Upload the `.wld` file into that folder.

Return to the main server panel and find the Change World option.

When asked for the world name, enter the uploaded file name without the `.wld` extension. For example, if the file is named `WorkshopArena.wld`, enter `WorkshopArena`.

Confirm the world change, then restart the server when prompted. After the restart finishes, the Terraria server should load the Workshop map.
The server still loads the old world. Check that the world name in the panel matches the uploaded `.wld` file exactly, excluding the extension. Restart the server after changing it.
The world appears blank or does not load correctly. Confirm the file was uploaded to `/saves/Worlds/`. If it was placed in another folder, Terraria will not use it. Also check capitalization and spelling in the configured world name.
A Journey Mode error appears. Journey worlds only allow Journey characters. Open the imported world in Terraria to check its difficulty, then join with the correct character type.
