If you have been building a Windrose world locally and want friends to join it on a server, you need to move the save data and point the server at the right world ID. The process is simple, but the folder names are picky. Windrose does not appreciate creative renaming.
Before changing anything, make sure your local Windrose version matches the version installed on the server. Saves are stored inside version-specific folders, so a version mismatch can send you looking in the wrong place.
Windrose saves each world inside a folder named with a long string of letters and numbers. That folder is the WorldID, and it must be uploaded exactly as it is.

Do not rename the WorldID folder. The name is generated by RocksDB, and Windrose uses that exact value when loading the save.
The uploaded folder must land in the same save structure on the server. If the server already has a world you care about, download its current WorldID folder first as a backup.

Keep the folder inside `Worlds`, not inside another newly created folder. Extra nesting is one of those small mistakes that causes very large confusion.
Uploading the world folder is only half of the job. Windrose checks `ServerDescription.json` during startup to decide which world to load. The `WorldIslandId` value must match your uploaded WorldID folder name exactly.
Always stop the server before editing files. Windrose rewrites `ServerDescription.json` during shutdown, so changes made while the server is running can be overwritten.
Check `ServerDescription.json` and compare `WorldIslandId` against the uploaded folder name character by character. One wrong character, missing number, or extra space is enough to make Windrose ignore the save.
Also confirm that the local game version and server version match. Since Windrose stores saves under `{GameVersion}`, using different versions can put the world data in a path the server is not using.
Yes. Stop the server, upload another WorldID folder into the same `Worlds` directory, then update `WorldIslandId` in `ServerDescription.json` to the new folder name. Any previous world folders can stay on the server, and you can switch back by changing the ID again.
After the server starts, Windrose should load the uploaded world and players can continue from the local save. If it does not appear, recheck the folder path, the game version folder, and the `WorldIslandId` value before making further changes.
