In The Front you play a time-displaced fighter pushing back against a tyrannical empire. Before you fire a single shot, the game asks you to pick or build a server, and that choice quietly shapes your difficulty, your social experience, and how hard your hardware has to work.

Like DayZ and other survival peers, The Front gates the whole experience behind server selection. The studio rolled out three server flavors on October 11, and each one targets a different play style.
- Official servers. Free, region-based clusters running in Asia, Europe, and North America. There is a mix of PVP and PVE; the PVE pools wipe every 45 days, so plan your hoarding accordingly.
- Solo and hosted servers. Spin one up directly from your PC. You set the name, password, description, and anything else you want to tweak. Convenient, but it lives and dies with your machine.
- Dedicated servers. A rented box that scales for larger groups. The right pick if you want stable uptime, lower latency, and a friends list in the dozens.

From the main menu, hit Create Dedicated Server and walk through the preferences. When the config looks right, click Start server to bring it online or Server save to keep the template for next time.
Below is the full menu of knobs you can twist. They are split into thematic groups so you do not have to scroll endlessly to find what you are looking for.

Heads up: the Workshop and Mod Manager tabs were still marked as under development at the time of writing.

The development team is upfront about it: solo and hosted servers can be unstable. Expect lag, stutters, and the occasional weird behavior, since the game itself is still in Early Access. For a smoother run, official or dedicated boxes remain the safer bet.
The setup screen looks similar to the dedicated one, but the option list is trimmed and reshuffled. Here is what shows up:

The config screen is generous, and stepping through every parameter can feel like a full spreadsheet review. HolyHosting handles the heavy lifting if you want it. Click the Create Server button below to start building your dedicated The Front instance, with 24/7 live chat on standby whenever a setting refuses to cooperate.
