Farming Salt Ore in The Front: Smelting Routes and Mine Locations

Salt Ore is one of those resources in The Front that seems scarce until you know where to look. It feeds into potions, crystal weapons, and a handful of building parts, so anyone planning to push past the early game wants a steady supply. There are two dependable ways to keep your stockpile growing, and you can mix both depending on how much risk you feel like absorbing today.

Method 1: Smelting Stone Into Salt Ore

The safest path runs through a Stone Furnace. Its recipe unlocks in the Tech Tree at Level 7, but before that you need a Crafting Table, which costs 7x Wood, 2x Tape, and 1x Rope.

Once the Crafting Table is placed, build the Stone Furnace with 30x Stone and 8x Fiber. Interact with the furnace, open the Advanced Refinement tab, and convert 3x Stone into 1x Salt Ore. The conversion rate is modest, but the furnace runs while you handle other tasks, so the volume adds up faster than it feels.

Method 2: Mining at the Source

Prefer to fight for your loot? Salt deposits are scattered across the map, and one of the densest spots sits at the Salt Mine in K11. Bring a pickaxe and break the deposits directly for raw Salt Ore.

Heads up: K11 is not beginner territory. The NPCs patrolling the zone are Level 25 and above, so roll in with proper gear, food, and a clear exit plan. Dying there means recovering your bag under fire, which is its own little side quest.

Turning Salt Ore Into Something Useful

By itself, Salt Ore is inventory clutter. Refine it at a Chemist's Bench to produce Inorganic Salt, which is what most recipes actually call for. Building the Chemist's Bench at your Crafting Table costs 25x Stone, 35x Wood, and 5x Iron Ingot.

With Inorganic Salt on hand, you can craft:

  • Crystal Arrow
  • Crystal Battleaxe
  • Crystal Spear
  • Crystal-themed building parts and furniture
  • Fire Resistance Potion
  • Frost Resistance Potion
  • Hardening Potion
  • Poison Resistance Potion
  • Stamina Potion

For solo players or anyone still leveling up, the furnace route is the low-risk default. Once you're geared for K11, the mine caps off your output and pays back the dangerous trip with a healthy stack of raw ore.
