The Front 1.0.19 Patch Notes: Christmas Event, EAC Anti-Cheat, and Server Favorites

Other Games·December 20, 2023·10 min read

The Front is dressing up for the holidays. Patch 1.0.19, dated December 20, 2023, blankets the map in snow, drops Santa into firefights, and reworks how the server browser behaves. Here is what changes once you log back in.

When the Christmas Event Runs

The seasonal event is live from 12 AM December 24, 2023 to 12 AM January 4, 2024 (UTC). After that window closes, the decorations come down and the map returns to its usual gritty self.

Snowmen, Snowballs, and Santa

Snow falls more often across most regions during the event. Roadside snowmen now hand out throwable snowballs if you walk up and interact, and standard loot containers get a holiday reskin so they show up as Christmas gifts instead of regular boxes.

Santa Claus may also wander into your looting routes. Hit him with five snowballs to stun him, and he drops a gift bag stuffed with event-only rewards: a Christmas tree blueprint, holiday recipes, bells, socks, ribbons, stars, and similar trinkets. The Christmas Tree Blueprint goes into the construction bench, while the cake and pudding recipes sit on the kitchen counter.

Traders at the Rebel Camp stock festive inventory too, including snowballs, Christmas trees, cake recipes, and pudding recipes. Higher tier supply runs increase the odds of pulling themed gear such as holiday clothing and sleeping bags.

Server Browsing Gets Smarter

The lobby got a useful cleanup. Servers now display a NEW tag where appropriate, and the default sort order has been retuned. The bigger addition is the new Favorite and History tabs, so jumping back to a server you played last night no longer means scrolling through hundreds of entries.

New Content and Anti-Cheat Switch

  • Anti-cheat moved over to Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC).
  • 15 new skins added to the Steam drop boxes.

Optimizations

  • Imperial helicopter and tank NPCs had their detection and attack ranges reduced.
  • Pressing B inside the workbench now closes that interface directly instead of switching to inventory on top of it.
  • Models and scenes were trimmed to improve server performance.
  • Bite resistance was folded into Physical resistance.

Bug Fixes

  • Placing or demolishing signs no longer awards character XP. RIP, sign farmers.
  • The Woodpecker AA Rocket Launcher now locks onto imperial helicopters.
  • The Infiltrator Missile Launcher now locks onto imperial tanks.
  • Helicopters hugging walls are no longer damage-resistant.
  • Resolutions under 5120x1440 in full-screen no longer break the UI.
  • Several visual glitches under DX12 mode addressed.
  • NPCs getting stuck in terrain or structures during supply drops fixed.
  • Tungsten AP Shell damage against structures raised to sensible levels.
  • Sprinklers attached to large water tanks now function correctly.
  • Multiple known map stuck points removed.
  • Skins from drop boxes no longer require a client restart to use in the lobby.
  • Duplicate server entries in the list cleaned up.
  • Stray gaps on doors and windows under low graphic settings fixed.
  • Lingering collision issues after demolishing structures resolved.

Known Issue

  • In solo or hosted games, the host may lose their character when entering the session a second time. Worth knowing before you commit to a long run.
