Fermenter in The Front: Crafting Steps, Drink Recipes, and Buffs

The Fermenter is the dedicated brewing station in The Front, and pretty much every beverage worth drinking passes through it. Most of those drinks hand out buffs that make survival easier, so getting one running early pays off. The catch is that the structure is locked behind a small chain of prerequisites, so you cannot just slap it down on day one.

This guide walks through the materials, the crafting order, and the full recipe list.

Step 1: Build a Stone Furnace First

The Fermenter relies on Copper Ingots, and Copper Ingots come out of a Stone Furnace. So that is where any new player should start.

Open your Crafting Bench and queue the Stone Furnace using:

• 30x Stone
• 8x Fiber

Once it finishes, drop the furnace in a spot you do not mind committing to. Interact with it, load Wood into the Consumable Bar as fuel, then pick the Copper Ingot recipe and feed Copper Ore into the inventory slot. Hit Activate and let the furnace cook. You need enough output to gather 8x Copper Ingot for the next step, alongside 25x Wood for the frame.

Step 2: Craft and Place the Fermenter

Back at the Crafting Bench, select the Fermenter recipe and burn through the wait. When it lands in the bench inventory, transfer it to your backpack.

From there:

1. Open your backpack and click the Fermenter.
2. Press C to enter placement mode.
3. Position the preview where you want the structure to live and confirm.

Pick somewhere close to your base. You will be feeding it ingredients constantly.

Using the Fermenter

Operating the Fermenter is far less fiddly than something like the Manual Miner. Walk up to it, press F, and the brewing interface opens.

Pick a recipe on the right panel, hit Craft, and the process starts the moment you have all the required ingredients. Pumping out a stockpile in advance is a smart move, especially with hostile content arriving in future patches.

All beverages branch out from a single base resource: Alcohol. Craft that first, then chain it into whatever drink fits the situation.

• Smoked Salmon Vodka: 8x Alcohol, 2x Water, 1x Spices, 1x Trout, 2x Prawn
