The Front Update 1.0.26: Cross-Server Storage and Follower Training Arrive

Other Games·February 5, 2024·8 min read

Samar Studio has shipped another round of changes to The Front. Update 1.0.26 introduces two new systems that should ease the constant grind, plus a stack of fixes and optimizations across all servers.

What Update 1.0.26 Adds

The headline feature is the Space-Time Warehouse, first teased by the studio a few weeks ago. Until now, jumping between PVP servers meant building your stash back up from scratch. With the warehouse in place, your basic materials follow you. Pressing J on the keyboard (the default binding) opens the new tab inside the navigation interface, and from there you can deposit or pull resources on any official PVP server.

Of course, the system has guardrails:

  • Every material has a quantity limit, and each one costs space-time points to store.
  • Your total space-time point pool is capped.
  • Items and points are tied to your account, not a specific character. Alts share the same vault.
  • PVE servers are not part of the system. Only official PVP servers can use it.
  • Materials need to finish uploading before you can extract them elsewhere. Once available, there is no cooldown between pulls.

The second big addition is the Follower Trainer, a workstation built for one purpose: making your subdued followers stronger without parading them through every firefight. Drop a follower into the trainer, feed it the right items, and it gains XP off the field. Pair this with the new Combat Rations and Advanced Combat Rations, both consumable inside the trainer, and grinding follower levels becomes a much cleaner loop.

Optimizations Worth Noting

Update 1.0.26 also tightens up the technical side. Highlights across all servers include:

  • DLSS settings now expose quality and sharpness controls.
  • More ladders in the world are climbable. A small thing, until you remember the ones that were not.
  • Plant behavior runs better on medium and low graphics presets.
  • Construction assets, day-night light transitions, and weather effects each got performance passes.
  • Translations received cleanups in several languages.
  • Captured follower logic was rewritten to behave more predictably.
  • Opening the map now pins your character's position so you stop guessing where you parked.

Bugs Squashed

The patch also closes out a handful of issues that had been bothering players:

  • Stuck spots inside certain caves.
  • Constructions that were silently blocking bridges.
  • An exploit that let players push past the normal subdued follower cap.
  • Wrong UI text appearing during follower taming.

Patch Notes Reference, February 5, 2024

The full notes from Samar Studio are available on the Steam announcement, and the official news page is where the Space-Time Warehouse was first revealed.

If you run a server, the warehouse mechanic alone is worth flagging to your community, since it changes how casual swappers and PVP grinders move between worlds. The Follower Trainer is more of a quality-of-life win, but it removes one of the more tedious chores in the late game.
