The Forest Item IDs: Full Spawn Code List and Console Commands

Surviving in The Forest is rarely about strategy and mostly about not getting yanked into a cave by a mutant at 2 AM in-game. If the grind is wearing thin, or you just want to test builds without farming sticks for an hour, item IDs let you summon anything straight into your inventory. No crafting, no exploring, no panic.

This guide covers how to switch on developer mode, the console commands you actually need, and the full ID list grouped by category.

Enabling Developer Mode

The console is hidden behind a small menu sequence. Follow these steps:

1. Launch The Forest and open Options.
2. Move into the Gameplay tab.
3. Switch Allow Cheats to On.
4. Return to the main menu and simply type developermodeon. There is no input box. Just type it on the title screen.
5. Load into a game and press F1 to open the console.

That is the entire setup. Every cheat from here runs through that console window.

Spawn Commands

Three commands cover almost everything you will want to do with IDs:

• `additem [ID]` drops the item directly into your inventory.
• `spawnitem [ID]` places it in the world at your current position.
• `removeitem [ID]` removes the item from your inventory.

Type the command, hit space, type the number, then press Enter. Easy as that.
