Sunkenland Advanced Parts: Best Spots, Reload Trick, and Crafting Uses

Other Games·January 4, 2024·6 min read

Advanced Parts are one of those Sunkenland resources you cannot just craft into existence. They show up far less often than Components or Scrap Metal, which is precisely why every late-game build seems to demand a pile of them. The good news: their spawns are not random, and there is a known save-file quirk that turns the slow grind into a steady supply.

What Advanced Parts Actually Unlock

Before you start swimming halfway across the map, it helps to know why you are bothering. The main use is upgrading your Research Table to Tier 4, which costs 8x Advanced Part, 8x Iron Ingot, and 8x Electronic Part.

Tier 4 then opens up some serious endgame recipes, including:

  • Steel Furnace: 5x Iron Ingot, 5x Electronic Part, 2x Advanced Part
  • Heavy Machine Gun: 10x Scrap Metal, 6x Gun Part, 4x Steel Ingot, 2x Advanced Part

Unless you enjoy staying stuck in Tier 3 forever, this hunt is unavoidable.

Where to Loot Them

Random map exploration is the slowest possible path. Stick to the high-yield spots:

  • Amusement Park (underwater)
  • Power Plant
  • Chemical Refinery
  • Middle Tier Islands, located far from your starting area, where the work tables often hide a piece or two

Also pop open every toolbox you find. The tall red toolboxes are the prize: they tend to hold two or three Advanced Parts instead of the usual one.

The Save-Reload Respawn Trick

If you want to farm without crisscrossing the ocean for hours, there is a quirk in how containers track their contents. Open one, take everything except at least one Advanced Part, then save the game and exit to the main menu.

Reload the save and check the same container. In most cases, it will refill to its original count, ready to loot again. Repeat until your storage is comfortably full.

A couple of caveats. First, back up your save file before abusing this trick, in case a reload corrupts something. Second, it only seems to work when you are hosting a server. Pure Single Player tends to ignore it entirely.
