Robin in Stardew Valley: Gift Preferences and Heart Events Explained

Other Games·December 18, 2025·13 min read

Robin runs the Carpenter Shop in Pelican Town, and she is one of the more practical friendships you can build on your farm. Hand her the right items each week and her friendship meter climbs, unlocking heart events and a few useful blueprints along the way. Here is a clean breakdown of what she loves, what she tolerates, and what to keep far away from your gift box.

Who Robin Is

Robin is the only carpenter in town, which means every Coop, Barn, or Shed upgrade goes through her. She is also a steady presence in the community, balancing long workdays with a busy family life. Befriending her offers a glimpse into the quieter, behind-the-hammer side of Stardew Valley.

Robin's Gift Preferences

Robin accepts up to two gifts per week, like every other villager. Her birthday falls on Fall 21, and any gift given that day counts for eight times the usual friendship boost. Save your best item for that date if you are serious about climbing the hearts.

Her reaction line tells you exactly where the gift lands on her scale:

  • Love: "This is for me? Wow, I absolutely love it!!"
  • Like: "Thanks! This is really nice!"
  • Neutral: "Thank you. This might come in handy."
  • Dislike: "Um... why?"
  • Hate: "What the...? This is terrible!"

Loved Gifts

  • Goat Cheese
  • Peach
  • Spaghetti
  • Woody's Secret

Two items also unlock custom dialogue worth knowing. Hand her a Stardrop Tea (a universal love) and she calls it a special treat. Give her the Woody's Secret book and she lights up about woodcutting tips, complete with a laugh she rarely lets out otherwise.

Liked Gifts

  • Hardwood
  • Quartz
  • Woodcutter's Weekly
  • All Universal Likes, plus Milk and Fruit (Peach counts as a love, not a like)

The Woodcutter's Weekly book also gets a tailored response. She thanks you "from one woodcutter to another," which is about as fond as Robin gets without saying the word "love."

Neutral Gifts

  • Chanterelle
  • Common Mushroom
  • Daffodil
  • Dandelion
  • Ginger
  • Hazelnut
  • Leek
  • Magma Cap
  • Morel
  • Purple Mushroom
  • Snow Yam
  • Winter Root
  • All Universal Neutrals (excluding Woodcutter's Weekly and Woody's Secret) and Eggs

Disliked Gifts

  • Wild Horseradish
  • All Universal Dislikes except Hardwood

Hated Gifts

  • Holly
  • All Universal Hates

If you accidentally hand Robin a piece of Holly, do not be surprised when your friendship bar moves backward.

Robin's Heart Events

Robin sits in the small group of villagers with only two heart events. To make up for the short list, she sends you a friendly 50x Wood by mail at random once your friendship is above zero, which is helpful if you build a lot of structures.

Six-Heart Event

Once Robin's friendship reaches six hearts, walk into her house on any day. She will ask you a question with two on-screen choices. Neither answer is wrong, and either one adds +50 to her friendship level. Completing the scene also unlocks two new craftables: the Drum Block and the Flute Block.

As of Update 1.6, this event can be skipped if you prefer.

Seven-Heart Event

At seven hearts, Robin mails you the Pumpkin Soup recipe. Opening the letter completes the event. That is the full interaction. Robin keeps things efficient, which is on brand for a carpenter on a deadline.
