Stardew Valley Leah Guide: Best Gifts, Reactions, and Every Heart Event

Leah is one of the twelve marriage candidates in Stardew Valley, and she happens to be one of the easiest to misread. She comes across as soft-spoken, but her tastes are picky and her cutscenes have real consequences if you fumble a dialogue choice. This guide covers where she lives, what to put in her hands, and how to walk through her Heart Events without tanking your friendship bar.

Who Is Leah?

Leah is a sculptor who left city life behind for the quiet of Pelican Town. You can find her at her small cottage south of Marnie's Ranch, usually carving wood in the mornings. She keeps that routine after marriage too, so do not expect her to suddenly switch hobbies once the ring is on. Every so often she also takes a short trip to Ginger Island, which is the closest thing this game has to a vacation.

Her birthday falls on Winter 23, and that day is your free bonus gift slot on top of the normal weekly allowance.

Gifting Rules

Like every other villager, Leah accepts only two gifts per week, plus one on her birthday. Birthday gifts also count for an 8x friendship multiplier when she loves the item, so save the strongest stuff for that date if you can.

Her reaction lines are a quick way to confirm a tier without checking the wiki:

• Love: "Oh! This is exactly what I wanted! Thank you!"
• Like: "This is a really nice gift! Thank you!"
• Neutral: "Thank you."
• Dislike: "Hmm... I guess everyone has different tastes."

Heart Events

Leah triggers a cutscene at every even heart level up to ten, with one extra event at fourteen hearts that only unlocks if you marry her (added in version 1.4). Her dialogue choices are unusually punishing, so read carefully before clicking.

Two Hearts

Walk into Leah's Cottage while she is home. She is mid-carving and starts explaining her view on sculpture. Three replies appear:

• "It's the same with people." (no friendship change)
• "I actually prefer the look of raw, unadulterated wood." (no friendship change)
• "(creepy) May I have a kiss?" (-100 friendship and permanently locks the eight-heart event)

The scene then asks whether Leah should sell her work online or host a local art show. That decision branches the eight-heart event later, so pick the option you actually want to see.

Four Hearts

Enter the cottage again while Leah is in. You catch her on a tense phone call with her ex-partner. Once it ends, she asks if she was too harsh. The safe replies are:

• "No, it had to be done."
• "No, and your ex sounds like an idiot."

Any variation of "yeah" or suggesting she belonged in the city costs -20 friendship.

Six Hearts

Two separate scenes here. The first is Leah dropping by your farmhouse on a non-rainy morning between 6 am and 11:30 am, no input from you required. The second triggers when you walk into Cindersap Forest while she is there, on any season other than winter. Neither affects your friendship total.

Eight Hearts

This is where your two-heart choice pays off.

• Art show route: Leah visits your farmhouse between 6 am and 8 am (not in winter), then asks you to come to Pelican Town between 3 pm and 5 pm.
• Online sales route: Head to her cottage when she is home and let the scene play.

Both are friendship-neutral, so just enjoy them.

Ten Hearts

Go to Cindersap Forest between 11 am and 4 pm outside of winter. Leah is there, and her ex-partner shows up uninvited. The reply options do not change friendship, so pick whichever sounds right for your story.

Keep her gift box stocked, dodge the bread, and you will hit fourteen hearts before Winter rolls around again.
