Stardew Valley Expanded reshapes ConcernedApe's farming sim into something that feels like a brand new release while keeping the original spirit intact. Built and maintained by FlashShifter, the mod layers in new NPCs, hundreds of fresh events, additional fish, alternative farm layouts, and entire regions to explore. Below is a breakdown of what the mod adds, plus the step by step process to get it running.

Most overhaul mods drift away from the source material. Stardew Valley Expanded does the opposite: it respects the original loop and slots new content into it. The result feels less like a different game and more like an expanded edition of one you already love. Active development keeps the feature list growing, so players who finished vanilla still have something new to chase years later.
The mod introduces more than a dozen original villagers, including marriage candidates and platonic friends. Existing residents also get tweaked behaviors. Build enough trust with Abigail, for example, and she might gift you a frog. Small touches like that make the original cast feel less static.
Every new resident arrives with their own scenes, pushing the total event count past 270. Each one has its own triggers. Claire's first major event, for instance, requires at least one full in-game year and 50 friendship points before it fires. The system rewards players who stick with relationships over multiple seasons rather than chasing quick payoffs.
You get the option to install one of two reworked farm layouts:
Beyond the farm, the mod opens up more than 50 new spots on the world map. Atlantis, the Countryside, and the Galdoran Void are just a few examples. The world map graphic itself is replaced to reflect the larger geography.
Anglers get 23 additional species to chase. Each one has its own catch difficulty, sale value, and flavor text, so they are not reskins of vanilla entries.

Before touching any files, double check compatibility. The mod plays well with Ridgeside Village, Boarding House, Mineral Town, and Downtown Zuzu City, but mixing it with the wrong combination can break a save or crash the game at startup.
Stardew modding has more moving pieces than Minecraft modding, and Expanded leans on several dependencies. Install every one of these before adding the mod itself:
If the console flags missing dependencies or version mismatches, fix those first. A clean SMAPI log on startup is the easiest sign that the install worked.
