Holy Team

Most Pelican Town residents keep you at arm's length until you really earn their trust. Emily isn't one of them. She greets you warmly the moment you arrive in the valley and invites you to swing by the Stardrop Saloon. That head start, plus the right gifts and her Heart Events, turns her early friendliness into a real bond.

Emily shares 2 Willow Lane with her sister Haley and works most shifts at The Stardrop Saloon, which makes her one of the easier villagers to track down without memorizing a schedule. Conversations with her tend to drift into farming tips (she is surprisingly knowledgeable about turning sheep wool into clothing) or her two big passions: crystals and the spiritual side of things.
Those interests double as the cheat sheet for picking her gifts.
You can hand Emily up to two gifts per week, plus a bonus on her birthday on Spring 27. Her reactions tell you exactly where each item lands on her scale:
If she mentions energy at all, you are either doing great or you have just handed her something offensive. There is not much middle ground.
These give the biggest friendship boost. Crystals dominate the list, which fits her hobby:
Anything raw or pulled from the sea tends to land in the disliked or hated columns, so stick with mined crystals and crafted cloth when you want a guaranteed win.

Each Heart Event unlocks at a specific friendship level: two, three, four, six, seven, eight, and ten hearts. There is also a 14-heart scene locked behind marrying her. Along the way, Emily starts mailing you gifts on her own, and the frequency picks up as your bond grows.
Walk into Emily's house while she is home. You will catch her asleep in her room and get a peek at her dream before she wakes up and mentions she senses something special about you.
A letter arrives with the Salad recipe. The dish needs 1x Leek, 1x Dandelion, and 1x Vinegar, and it restores 113 health plus 50 energy.
Step into Pelican Town on a sunny day outside of winter. The scene starts when Emily leaves her house, a parrot smacks into her window, and she takes the bird in to nurse it back to health. If you eventually marry her, that same parrot moves into your farmhouse.
Visit Emily at home. She will reveal a secret hobby and break into a dance, then ask what you thought. Pick carefully:
The slow clap option is dryly effective. Before version 1.1, this scene triggered at four hearts instead.
Another package arrives in the mail, this time with the Red Plate recipe. Cooking it takes 1x Red Cabbage and 1x Radish. Eating the dish restores 240 health and 108 energy and adds 50 to your maximum energy for 3 minutes 30 seconds.
You will get a letter inviting you to the Mayor's Manor. Stop by while it is open and watch Emily run her "Clothing Therapy" session with the other villagers. Just let the scene finish on its own.
A letter from Emily asks you to meet her at the Secret Woods after 10 PM. You will camp out together until a bear appears and ruins the moment, leaving you both to share her single sleeping bag (the spare is still outside the tent). Watch it through to the end.
Reaching the Secret Woods usually requires the Steel Axe to chop the large log blocking the entrance, but the event will still fire if you show up at the right time on any day after the letter arrives.
