Holy Team

Squad has officially joined the HolyHosting catalog, which means tactical FPS fans can finally stop running their 100-player matches off a friend's gaming PC. The large-scale military shooter is now part of our game hosting lineup, with the same performance and feature set you would expect from any of our top-tier titles.
This post covers what Squad is, what your dedicated server gets out of the box, and a few reasons the setup is closer to "click and deploy" than the average military sim hosting experience.

First launched into Steam Early Access on December 14, 2015, Squad is the spiritual successor to Project Reality, the old Battlefield 2 mod that taught a generation of players that pressing the comms key matters more than pressing the trigger. The pitch has held up: big maps, real coordination, and matches that reward patience over twitch aim.
Each server slot supports up to 100 players split into two teams of 50. With that many bodies in play, CPU and network headroom are not optional, which is exactly why a proper dedicated host outperforms anything you could rig up at home.
Squad ships with a wide selection of playable factions, including the US Army, Russian Ground Forces, Canadian Armed Forces, Middle Eastern Alliance, and Insurgents. Each one trades firepower for mobility, armor, or asymmetric tactics in different ways. Pick the one that matches how your group actually plays, not the one with the best trailer.
Most squad shooters hand you a static map. Squad lets you change it. Anti-tank guns, sandbags, razor wire, and HESCO barriers can be deployed mid-match to fortify positions, lock down chokepoints, and give your team somewhere safer than open ground. Defensive engineering is a real role here, not a side activity.
Land, road, and air are all covered. Each faction fields its own vehicle pool. The US Army runs the M1126 Stryker and the M2A3 Bradley, while the Australian Defence Force brings the HX60 truck, the UH-60M Black Hawk, and the MRH-90 Taipan. If it has wheels, tracks, or rotors, someone on your team will eventually drive it through a wall.
Squad's in-game VoIP is the backbone of every winning team. You can talk to your immediate squad, ping the team commander, or coordinate between squad leaders without juggling a third-party app. It is also the quickest way to find out who on your team gives clean callouts and who just shouts "TANK" with no grid reference.
Every Squad dedicated server on HolyHosting includes:
