Just because your helicopter ride ended in a crash doesn't mean the skies are off limits. The island in Sons of the Forest is dotted with hang gliders that let you reclaim some of that lost altitude, scout terrain from above, and reach areas that would otherwise eat an hour of hiking on foot.
This guide covers every hang glider spawn currently in the game, plus the basics of flying one without immediately reintroducing yourself to the dirt.

Patch 01 added a total of 12 hang gliders to Sons of the Forest. They tend to sit on cliffs, peaks, or hilltops, which is convenient: most spawn points double as a serviceable launch ramp, so you can grab the glider and immediately take off without ferrying it anywhere.

Use the map above as your reference. Each glider has a number, and the breakdown below tracks them in the same order so you can match symbols to descriptions quickly.

After you find one, walk up and interact to mount it. You'll need a decent drop to actually take off, so don't try to launch from flat ground or you'll just earn yourself a confused crouch animation.
Once airborne, controls are straightforward:
Pick an open patch of ground, line up your approach, and aim for the flatter spots. The moment your character touches down, you dismount automatically. Trees, rocks, and steep slopes are not your friends here, so give yourself plenty of room before committing to a descent.
That's the full roster of hang gliders on the island. Pin a few of these locations to memory and crossing the map suddenly takes minutes instead of half a day.
