Smalland: Survive the Wilds Patches In Guilds, Stables, and More

Other Games·April 28, 2025·9 min read

The newest patch for Smalland: Survive the Wilds, nicknamed the Guild and Stables update, is now live across all platforms. It packs in a coop-focused guild system, a proper home for your companions, two fresh encampments to discover, a mystery creature, and a long list of fixes. Here is the full rundown of what changed.

The Patch Is Out Today

No countdowns or pre-orders needed. The update is already deployed, so you and your group can drop in tonight. Steam is also running a sale on the base game, which makes this a decent moment to recruit anyone who has been on the fence.

Guild System

Cooperative play finally gets a real backbone now that proper guilds exist at the server level. The highlights:

  • Server-wide guilds with shared Tree Encampments.
  • Shared bases stay online as long as a single guildmate is logged in.
  • Role-based permissions control who can build, decorate, or revive at the encampment.
  • A new revive consumable lets guild members pick each other up out in the field.

Stables and Companion Upgrades

Pets are no longer hanging around the camp like furniture. Three stable types now exist, each sized for a different class of companion, so your menagerie has dedicated housing.

Two new tools also handle long-distance companion management:

  • Summoning Pebble: pulls a companion to your current position in the Overlands.
  • Homecoming Totem: sends a companion back to your encampment, no questions asked.

Two New Encampments and a New Bird

The northern map gets two additional Tree Encampments that slot into your existing network. Talk to Bonniedel if you need a nudge on locating or activating them.

A new task also brings the Roufus-Bellied Tit into the world for the first time. It has never been seen in Smalland before, so plan a hunt with your guild and see who spots it first.

Quality of Life, Polish, and Fixes

The rest of the changelog covers UX, balance, and a handful of long-standing annoyances:

  • Expanded command list for companions.
  • Decorative mushrooms for builders chasing the cottagecore aesthetic.
  • Corrected journal entries for Bonniedel and Granger.
  • Improved rock textures and world visuals across the board.
  • New in-game Give Feedback option that sends notes directly to the dev team.
  • Restored the missing toy soldiers on the beach.
  • New Rufous Mask Helmet added to the loot pool.
  • Anti-griefing rule: releasing companions inside someone else's Tree Encampment is now blocked.
  • Ranged weapon balance pass.
  • A proper social menu has been added.
  • Fix for creature levels above 100 reverting on reload.
  • General stability and polish across the board.

What Comes Next

This is one entry in a longer 2025 plan. If you want to see what else is on the way, the studio has published its 2025 content roadmap on Steam.
