A unique server name makes your Factorio world easier to find, more memorable, and gives newcomers a reason to click your entry instead of scrolling past. Whether you want something serious for a public community or an inside joke for a few friends, the name lives in a single text field and can be edited at any time. This guide walks through the process from the HolyHosting control panel to the in-game multiplayer browser.
That is the whole panel side of the job. The rest is just verifying that it shows up correctly in Factorio itself.
After the server is back online, launch Factorio on your computer and choose Multiplayer from the main menu.
Open Browse Public Games and use the search icon at the top right to look up the new name.
Highlighting the entry brings up the full server info. Once a player has joined at least once, the name will also surface in the quick-join section of the main menu, which is handy if you tend to lose track of which world you are connecting to.
The name has not changed. Go back to the control panel and double-check that you typed the value into the Server Name field and nowhere else. Restart the server so the new value loads. If it still looks wrong, open the config files section from your panel menu and edit `server-settings.json`. Near the top, look for the `"name":` line and confirm the value matches what you set. If it does, a restart should finish the job.
The server is missing from the public list. This usually means public visibility was never turned on. Visit your Factorio profile page, log in, click Reveal to copy your token, then paste it into the matching field in your server settings along with your Factorio username. Set Public Server to Enabled and restart. The server should appear in the public list shortly after.
