RuneScape: Dragonwilds Blightwood: Where to Farm It and Every Recipe

RuneScape: Dragonwilds dropped into early access, and one of the first materials worth chasing down is Blightwood. It sits behind a hostile biome, a constant poison effect, and a specific axe tier, so jumping in unprepared usually ends with a quick respawn. Below is a practical breakdown of where the wood grows, what to bring, and what you can build once you have it.

Where Blightwood Grows

Blightwood is harvested from Blightwood Roots, and those roots only spawn inside the Bloodblight Swamp. The name is not decorative. The air is constantly toxic, the wildlife is aggressive, and the terrain is built to chew through underprepared players.

Before any logging trips, get the following ready:

• Lodestone: 32x Stone, 20x Rune Essence, 1x Vault Core. Place one near the swamp border so you can teleport home with Law Runes when things go sideways.
• Antipoison Potions: 1x Harralander, 1x Bittercap Mushroom, 1x Clay Vessel. Without them, the swamp's atmosphere drains your HP on a fixed tick until you leave or die.
• Bronze Logging Axe: 5x Bronze Bar, 4x Ash Logs, 2x Coarse Thread. Lower tier axes will not register on Blightwood Roots at all.

Best Farming Spot

Head to the northeastern edge of the swamp, roughly under the "T" in the "Bloodblight" map label. A large set of gates marks the entry. Blightwood Roots cluster around the surrounding tall trees, so you can dash in, chop, and pull back to the gates before the poison stacks become a real problem. Two or three loops are usually enough to fill a stack.

If your antipoison timer expires while you are still inside, swap to a fresh dose immediately or sprint out. Tanking the swamp without buffs is not heroic, it is just a long walk back from the Lodestone.

Blightwood gates several mid-game weapons and a couple of utility items. Since the game is still in early access, expect more recipes to land in future patches. Current recipes are:

The Iron Pickaxe is the cheapest entry on the list and the one most players go for first, since it unlocks mining tiers that feed every other recipe here. If you only have time for one swamp run, prioritize enough wood for the pickaxe and the Anti-dragon Shield, then come back later for the weapon recipes once you have the rest of the materials lined up.
