Halcyon Seed in Risk of Rain 2: Stats, Location and Boss Guide

What the Halcyon Seed Does

The Halcyon Seed is a boss utility item in Risk of Rain 2 that calls a friendly Aurelionite to fight beside you. The base summon shows up with 100% damage and +100% health, which already makes it one of the strongest allied summons in the game. Each extra stack grants the ally an additional 50% damage and 100% health, turning your golden bodyguard into something genuinely scary in the later stages.

Because it falls under the boss item category, the Halcyon Seed is a guaranteed drop tied to a specific encounter rather than something you can lottery out of a regular chest.

Where to Find It: The Gilded Coast

To claim the Halcyon Seed, you have to reach the Gilded Coast, a hidden realm that does not appear on the normal stage rotation. Access depends on the Altar of Gold, which spawns randomly on any stage except the first one. If you do not see one, just keep looping.

Interacting with the altar costs $200. Pay up, the portal opens, and you can step into the Gilded Coast where the boss is waiting. Risk of Rain 2 also expanded Aurelionite's backstory in the 2021 Anniversary Update, so there is a proper lore entry for the curious.

How to Beat Aurelionite

Once inside the Gilded Coast, you have to light all four Halcyon Beacons to make Aurelionite appear. She is not subtle, a massive golden colossus with a health pool that punishes anyone trying to chip her down slowly.

Her moveset feels familiar if you have already fought the Stone Titan, since she shares the same general behavior:

  • Stone Construct for area denial.
  • Eye Laser as her tracking ranged attack.
  • A modified Stone Sword that fires six fire rings in a line instead of one wide ring.

Players who have already cleared the Stone Titan should find this fight readable rather than terrifying. The cleanest finisher, if you happen to have it, is the Void Reaper's Implosion, which instantly deletes anything inside a 15m radius and skips the long damage race entirely.

Survive the fight and the seed is yours. Stack a second copy on the next run if RNG cooperates, and you have a permanent ally doing serious damage while you focus on dodging.
