Risk of Rain 2 Default Controls and Keybinds for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch

Other Games·July 1, 2024·16 min read

Risk of Rain 2 is a game where standing still tends to end your run quickly. Movement, dodging, and skill timing all depend on knowing your controls without thinking, so muscle memory is half the battle. Every binding below can be remapped from the in-game Settings menu, but the defaults are sensible enough that most players never bother.

Here is the complete default control layout for each supported platform.

Before you memorize anything

Open the Settings menu, find Controls, and skim through the categories. Some Survivors play very differently from others, and a binding that works fine on Commando might feel awful on Loader or Engineer. If something gets in your way after a few runs, change it.

A note on muscle memory

Reading a control list is not the same as using it under pressure. Spend a few minutes in a low-difficulty run focusing on rotating through Utility and Special on cooldown, not just Primary. Survivors who actually use all four skill buttons live a lot longer than the ones who treat the right mouse button like a religion.

If a key still feels wrong after a few hours, go back into Settings and tune it. There is no medal for sticking with defaults you do not enjoy.
