Renown Bandages Guide: Healing Recipes, Fiber Farming, and Field Use

Other Games·September 30, 2025·5 min read

In Renown, your health bar does not refill on its own. There is no resting in the shade, no slow tick of regen between fights. If you take damage, you either patch yourself up or you stay wounded. This guide covers the medical items currently in the game, how to craft them, and how to actually use them without getting cut down halfway through a bandage.

Crafting Medical Items in Renown

During Early Access, the Primitive Bandage is the only healing item you can actually craft. The recipe is straightforward: 10x Fiber per bandage. Fiber comes from Flax, the purple flower scattered across the map. Harvesting Flax stalks gives you the raw material, so it pays to memorize a handful of reliable Flax spots near the areas where you usually fight or build.

The other option is the Cloth Bandage. It is not craftable. You find it inside containers, mostly bags and chests, and it spawns fairly often in small villages and larger castles. A short looting circuit through populated points of interest is the fastest way to stock up before a serious engagement.

How to Use Bandages

Like other consumables in Renown, bandages must live on your hotbar. Drop one into an open slot, press the matching hotkey to equip it, then press left mouse (default) to begin healing.

A progress bar appears at the bottom of the HUD while the animation plays. You cannot cancel it. Once you commit, you are locked in until the bar fills, which means an opportunistic enemy can walk over and finish the job while you fumble with cloth. Pick a corner, a tower, a teammate's shadow, anywhere that buys you the few seconds you need.

Which Bandage Should You Carry

Cloth Bandages heal more health per use, so they are the better field option when you can find them. The catch is supply. During raids and sieges they tend to vanish from inventories quickly, and you may not have time to scavenge fresh ones between fights. That is where Primitive Bandages earn their keep: as long as you have a Flax route and a small Fiber reserve, you can keep producing them on your own schedule.

A simple rule of thumb: scavenge Cloth Bandages for the big battles, craft Primitive Bandages so you never run dry. Walking into a contested keep with empty pockets is a quick way to learn why stockpiling matters.
