No One Survived Skills Guide: Leveling, Books, Traders, and Attributes

Other Games·November 21, 2023·13 min read

No One Survived uses skills to shape what your character can do well, from fighting zombies to crafting weapons, cooking food, farming crops, or keeping a base functional. If you want a better survivor, you need to know which actions raise which skills and when traders or books can help.

How to View Skills

Open your inventory with the TAB key by default, then click the book icon at the top of the screen. This opens the Skills information window, where you can track your current levels.

Different skills improve through different actions. Combat skills usually improve by using the relevant weapon type, while crafting and profession skills can improve through crafting, reading books, or giving items to certain NPC merchants.

Note: As of Update 0.0.6.2, NPC merchants turn on their lights at night, which makes them easier to find after dark.

Leveling Skills With Books

Books are another way to increase skills, but the volume has to match your current level. If your Medicine skill is level 3, for example, you need to read the 4th volume of Medicine to advance it.

Reading usually costs Mentality during each session, so it is best done somewhere safe. Sitting in your base with supplies nearby is much better than reading while zombies audition for your personal space.

Skill planning matters because many recipes and survival options depend on these categories. Focus first on the skills that support your current goals, such as Cooking and Medicine for survival, Engineering for base work, or Firearms and Sharps if combat is becoming your main problem.
