No One Survived Dedicated Server Setup and Connection Guide

Other Games·December 4, 2023·17 min read

Setting up a No One Survived dedicated server is not as direct as clicking one in-game button. The process uses SteamCMD, a separate server install, a shortcut launch parameter, and a Game.ini file for configuration.

How to Create a No One Survived Dedicated Server

No One Survived requires a separate server app for dedicated hosting. The official Steam process follows these steps:

  1. Create a new folder on your PC named SteamCMD.
  2. Download SteamCMD here.
  3. Extract and install SteamCMD into the new SteamCMD folder.
  4. Open the SteamCMD folder.
  5. Create another folder inside it named NoOneSurvivedServer.
  6. Open the SteamCMD app.
  7. Enter this command: `force_install_dir ./NoOneSurvivedServer/`
  8. Log into your Steam account through SteamCMD.
  9. Enter this command: `app_update 2329680`
  10. Wait for the installation to finish.
  11. Enter `quit` to log out of SteamCMD.
  12. Open the NoOneSurvivedServer folder.
  13. Create a shortcut for WRSHServer.exe.
  14. Right-click the WRSHServer.exe shortcut and select Properties.
  15. Add `-server -log` to the shortcut’s target field.
  16. Run the server through the shortcut.
  17. Wait until ServerCreate appears in the server window.

Once ServerCreate appears, the server can be configured through the Game.ini file.

Where to Find Game.ini

The configuration file is located at:

`\NoOneSurvivedServer\WRSH\Saved\Config\WindowsServer.Game.ini`

Open this file to edit server and gameplay settings. Save a backup before changing it, especially if the server is already in use. Configuration files have a talent for becoming exciting at the worst possible time.

How to Join a Dedicated Server

After the dedicated server is running and configured, players can connect from the game menu:

  1. Launch No One Survived normally.
  2. Select Multiplayer from the main menu.
  3. Click Private Server.
  4. Search for the name set in the ServerName field of Game.ini.
  5. Select the server and click Join In.

If the server name does not appear, relaunching the game may make it show up.

Need a Simpler Option?

If manual setup feels like too much, HolyHosting can handle No One Survived server hosting with support available through 24/7 live chat. That skips the SteamCMD routine and gets players into the part with zombies, which is at least the intended kind of problem.
