Necesse Controls Guide for Keyboard, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch

Necesse has plenty to do, from building and exploring to fighting, looting, and managing settlements. Learning the controls keeps those tasks smoother, whether you use mouse and keyboard or a controller. The game is fully playable with either setup, though keyboard and mouse naturally offer more direct bindings.

Necesse PC Controls: Mouse and Keyboard

Necesse lets you attack, interact, use items, manage inventory, open journals, place torches, trigger abilities, and handle hotbar actions. Some actions are not bound by default, but controls can be changed at any time.

To remap mouse and keyboard controls:

• Press Escape.
• Click Settings.
• Click Controls.
• Find the action you want to change and select it.
• Click the new button you want assigned to that action.

Controller remapping works differently. Opening Controls while using a controller brings up Steam's controller settings. From there:

• Make sure your controller type, such as Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch Controller, is selected as Your Controller.
• Under Current Button Layout, find Official Layout for Necesse, View Layout, and Edit Layout.
• Choose Edit Layout to change the controller mapping.

The defaults below cover each supported layout. If one button feels wrong, change it before your inventory management becomes the true final boss.
