Necesse has left early access with the 1.0 update, bringing a major set of features, balance changes, fixes, and new content. The biggest shift is the move to infinite seamless worlds, replacing the previous island-based world structure with one large procedurally generated world.

Necesse 1.0 Update Highlights

Patch 1.0 adds seamless biome generation, old world migration, a Fallen Altar perk tree, 48 unique Fallen Altar perks, a final incursion, new weapons, new armor, new sound effects, new soundtracks, achievements, map markers, settlement changes, and much more.

The developers at Fair Games ApS also noted that more updates are planned after 1.0. Future additions may include:

  • New enemies
  • New mini biomes
  • New items
  • New incursion content
  • Community suggestions
  • Quality of life improvements

No arrival date is listed for those future updates, but 1.0 already gives players a large amount to explore.

Changes and Miscellaneous Updates

  • Overhauled balance and progression across the whole game.
  • Reworked settlements with bounds and added support for more settlements on one map.
  • Settlements now disband over time if no flag is placed.
  • Settlements can now be expanded through the settlement settings menu.
  • Gateway Tablet Tier is now capped at Tier 10 instead of Tier 6.
  • Equipment can now be upgraded to Tier 10.
  • Gateway Tablets now have 2 Incursion Modifiers from tier 4 to 7.
  • Gateway Tablets now have 3 Incursion Modifiers from Tier 8 and above.
  • Replaced Travel Scrolls with Teleport Scrolls.
  • Replaced Travelstone with Teleportstone.
  • Reworked map items so they place a marker where they point.
  • Weapon damage and crit chance tooltips now include player modifiers and enchantments.
  • Home Portals from the Portal Flask now show on the map for the owner and team members.

  • Demonic armor set bonus now has an active ability that consumes health to enter demonic rage.
  • Quartz helmet armor set bonus now grants resilience and movement speed when hit.
  • Removed the world border size setting for now.
  • Recipes for converting Tier 2 essences to other essences are now more expensive.
  • Reduced minecart track crafting cost and made tracks place much faster.
  • Stink flask buff is now treated as important.
  • Increased item upgrade cost during incursion stage.
  • Increased the number of upgrade shards returned when salvaging a higher tier item.
  • Lightning Hammer attacks no longer pass through walls.
  • Reduced Lightning Hammer resilience generation.
  • Reduced the speed of Mother Slime earthquake attack.
  • Increased mana regen from mana regen potions.
  • Game freezes now show a crash report to help resolve issues.

Fixes

  • Fixed settlement flag no owner question mark being offset on the flag.
  • Fixed trial rooms spawning the same main item too often.
  • Fixed wall candle smoke particles always coming from the center of a tile.
  • Fixed the wrong message appearing when trying to sit on an occupied bench.
  • Fixed Stabby Bush explosion being able to hit friendlies.
  • Fixed Brutes Battleaxe sometimes failing to register hits while dashing.
  • Fixed buff weapon projectiles drawing with an incorrect height offset.
  • Fixed mirroring of some large objects in presets not always working.
  • Fixed Flameling not playing a sound when shooting fireballs.
  • Fixed missing pixels on some armor sets.
  • Fixed wild flowers showing as potted flowers after placement until updated.
  • Fixed placed coins on shore tiles being destroyed when something was placed nearby.
  • Fixed deaths to Void Traps showing as "Unknown".
  • Fixed creative mode torch hotkey sometimes placing torches extremely far away.
  • Fixed overlapping context menus highlighting both menus when hovered.
  • Fixed sub-context menus not being selectable properly with controllers.
  • Fixed Double Streetlamp not being rotatable or mirrorable in the preset editor.
  • Fixed Necrotic Bow summons dying too quickly.
  • Fixed Blood Claw right-click attack sometimes dealing no damage.
  • Fixed going to map edges with a torch stopping the light from refreshing.
  • Fixed replacing objects and tiles sometimes causing desync.
  • Fixed carpets drawing above some objects such as campfires and minecart tracks.
  • Fixed benches and beds already in use showing the wrong error message.
  • Fixed most Statues giving the Banner of Peace buff.
  • Fixed magic glyphs not showing the correct settings when first placed.
  • Fixed Lightning Hammer dealing more damage to worm bosses than intended.
  • Fixed Deep Rock tile having the wrong map color.
  • Fixed Incursion Flamelings always spawning in the bottom right.
