Gathering resources across the Myth of Empires map is useful, but it is not always convenient when hostile generals, wild threats, or distance get in the way. Farming gives players another way to produce materials while staying closer to a base or controlled area. The process is straightforward once you understand land, seeds, soil, water, fertilizer, and harvesting.

Farming requires a few steps, and skipping one can reduce the quality or yield of your crops. Follow the process below to set up a working farm.
You can build a farm from scratch using farming-related crafting recipes. Open the Crafting Recipes menu and choose Cultivation to find the tools and equipment used for farming, including the Crude Planter.
Another option is to explore the map and look for areas marked as "Field" or "Farmland." These locations usually contain many of the basic elements needed to begin farming, making them a practical choice if you want less setup work.
Gathering Grass can give you seeds. With enough time spent collecting grass, even beginner players can build up a large seed supply early in the game. It is not glamorous work, but neither is starving because nobody wanted to pick grass.
Different seeds require different soil porosity values. Soil porosity refers to the open space between soil particles, and in Myth of Empires this value decreases over time.
To raise soil porosity, hit the field or planter with a Hoe.
Note: Craft a Hoe with 14x Stone, 4x Hardwood, and 4x Straw Rope.
Once the soil reaches the required porosity value, place the seeds in your hotbar. Equip them, then plant them in the field or planter.
To water plants, travel to a nearby water source such as a freshwater river. Place a barrel item on your hotbar, stand in the water, and press the number key tied to the barrel. Each press gathers water into the barrel.
Note: Craft a Large Wooden Barrel with 4x Sharp Claws, 9x Teeth, 2x Cutin, and 2x Pig Cinnabar.
After filling the barrel, return to your farm and stand on the field or planter. Press the same hotbar key again to apply water to the crops. Repeat the process until the plant reaches its required water value.
Plants also need fertilizer. Each crop has its own fertilizer requirement, and lower-level plants usually use basic fertilizer types such as Green Manure, Ash Fertilizer, and Organic Fertilizer.
Craft Basic Organic Fertilizer with 5x Wood Ash, 1x Bone Meal, and 1x Rotten Food. Craft Ash Fertilizer with 6x Wood Ash and 2x Clay Mine. Craft Basic Green Manure with 6x Wood Ash and 1x Soybean Cake.
Put the fertilizer in your hotbar, stand on the field or planter, and press the number tied to the fertilizer. Your character should spray fertilizer onto the crops. Keep applying it until the crop reaches the recommended value.
Fertilizer values decrease over time, so return periodically to top them up when needed.
When a plant is fully grown, walk up to it and press the action/interact button. The default keyboard key is E. No tool or extra item is required at this stage.
Mature plants can receive a grade. If everything was handled correctly, the crop should show the "Perfect Harvest" tag, giving the best available perks for that plant.
