Counter-Strike 2 launched as the long-awaited replacement for CS:GO, bringing Valve's tactical shooter into a newer engine with updated systems and visuals. That naturally raised a question for players outside the PC ecosystem: is Counter-Strike 2 on console?

At the time of writing, Valve has not announced a Counter-Strike 2 release for PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch. CS2 is available on PC through the official Counter-Strike 2 site, and there is no confirmed console version.
Because Valve has not shared plans for a console port, it is reasonable to assume CS2 will remain PC-only for the near future. That also fits most of the series' history, even if Counter-Strike has not completely avoided consoles.
CS:GO did launch on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Those versions existed, but they did not receive the same regular update support as the PC version. For a live competitive game, that matters a lot. Counter-Strike depends on balance changes, matchmaking updates, anti-cheat work, maps, and esports alignment.
Valve has also kept several major games away from traditional consoles. Artifact, Dota 2, and Half-Life: Alyx are notable examples.
Still, a CS2 console port is not impossible. Valve has released plenty of games on consoles before, including:
For now, console players who want to follow Counter-Strike 2 will need to rely on PC gameplay, streamers, social media, tournaments, and esports coverage. A future port could happen, but Valve has not given PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch players a release date to circle on the calendar.
